Pafias Afroditis House — Hotel in Paphos Municipality

It is a small house, not a hostel. There is just one room with 3 bunk beds, no reception, no personal present. If you are unlucky (as I was for 2 of my 4 night stay), you will share it with weird middle aged men as the only female guest. As a solo female traveler, I did not feel safe. You get zero information about anything - you need to turn on heater for warm water, the tap water is drinkable and filtered if you use the specific tap assembly, the wifi code is written on a paper in the living room. Also, nowhere is written you can not flush the toilet paper - some guests were suprised when I told them. To use the cooker, you have to turn it on with a special swith on the wall. It would be nice to get those information from the accomodation. you get the code to the door hour after check in time. Why? If the checkin is at 2 pm, it would be nice to have the information beforehand. I have met two people who had to wait more than hour to get a the entrance code from the owners. General slow reaction through the booking messages. the wifi was very weak. If you plan on working from the place, have a lot of mobile data on hand. I could not even load my emails. there was no toilet paper when i checked in. no system for labeling food, neither in fridge, nor on the shelves lack of starage room. No shelves, just small square lockers. As a result, there was always a mess in the room.

What was good? The location is perfect for walking to promenade and to the beaches. Huge supermarket is like 3 minutes walk away One of the bus stations is 5 minutes walk away. 15 minutes from Thombs of the Kings. This is a very small hostel with 6 beds, the people working there are very kind and helpful. There is no reception, but you will be provided with a gate code. Location is absolutely amazing, it's close to very good local taverns, sea and many historical sites. The hostel has a well equipped kitchen and lockers for personal belongings. My only complaints are that the beds should have shelfs, so you can charge your phone at night, the parking is not guaranteed (but you can find a free parking spot in close vicinit), you need to wait 3 minutes under shower to have warm water and doors between the living room and the bedroom.

I booked for four days, and unfortunately I developed knees inflammations and I could not go. They charged me in advance even though through booking there was a option to pay in property. I asked them whether the reservation can be modified for sometime in November, they said they could not return the funds and demonstrated 0 flexibility and understanding even though objective health issues are at stake. Plus they sent me strange email to enter from back door etc. Totally uninterested for their guests. Imagine I could...
