Attention! Burglaries at the Villas of landlord L. A. Mer Homes. Rested in September 2019 with our parents. One evening (between 20:00-22:00) we were robbed at Villa Galina #22. The robbers broke into the back door and got in while we were in the cafe. We have stolen passports, money, credit cards, documents for cars, keys, personal belongings. Everything in the locked safe was stolen along with the safe. That evening another Villa not far from us was robbed. This was reported by the police, who came on our call. Same scenario. Robbers purposefully went for the safe as all things lay on the places and we didn't understand at once that happened in our absence. The loss of the safe drew attention only when in one of the rooms found empty packages from our travel suitcase and found it in the closet. Presumably the safe was loaded into the suitcase for convenience and distraction. Thus we remained without documents and means to further continuation vacation. The mood is completely ruined. Despite full compliance with all instructions (locking all doors, Windows), we lost our property, documents and our money. If we had been at home at the time of the robbery, we could have been physically assaulted by the robbers. Neither the police nor the landlord were surprised by the incident on the island. For them, this is a common situation in the tourist season. Knowing that such robberies occur constantly the landlord has not equipped the Villa with burglary protection, there is no alarm and the safe is simply bolted to the closet. Also was not warned about additional insurance. In General, the rest of the Villa is a constant control of their property. Leave, in safes absolutely nothing can not be not during your stay and even more so in your absence. L. A. Mer Homes refused to deal with our problem said that should nothing and shrugged smiling sweetly in the face. In response to al. the address is also complete indifference. Also note that leaving a Deposit (500 euros) be prepared for fines not for serious damage to the house, and for the little things. For example, if you do not throw your garbage out of the buckets at the departure - the penalty will be 150 euros. If you do not remove the ash from the grill – 100 euros. If you do not reset the password on the safe – 100 euros. For such trifles you can pay double the price for accommodation. Beautiful villa in a great location. We had the villa for 2 weeks with family members aged from 9 to 64 years. The villa and pool were clean and tidy when we arrived and instructions to enter the villa were easy to follow. Lots of bedding and towels as well as gowns and slippers were provided. The lift was great for the suitcases as 3 floors up from the garage. Arrived late at night and it was hot, A/C was on but seemed to be blowing warm air around. A/C instructions hard to follow and appeared to say the temperature should be 25/27 degrees. Managed to sleep with open windows and no mosquitoes. Easy to call the office and someone sent out , unfortunately he did not understand what we were saying and told us to keep A/C on . We arrived Thursday night and A/C finally repaired on Tuesday afternoon. Only really wanted to cool down bedrooms in evening, it made such a difference once working, but took time for someone in the office agree it was not working . Would be so good if a book could be provided with instructions of how to work the very complex lighting, and recommend highlights of the area. There is a small pull along vacuum, but a broom and dust pan would be helpful. Showers are good but there are water leaks in a couple . ( paint on staircase is bubbling and falling onto stairz ). Loads of outside seating and comfortable sunbeds. The beach is very pretty and only a couple of minutes walk down the gated area path. Great beach walk in both directions . Walk into Protaras took around 15/20 minutes via the road lots of good restaurants. Great bakery next to fig tree bay . Had a powercut on last morning, but office were quick to send someone out and the garage doors do open if the power is off. Overall would stay in the villa again, not quite as luxurious as first appears ( there is a gym but running machine broken, other equipment worked but not for me) . Little details need sorting. Firstly, must say, pleasure dealing with LA Mer, they were speedy on their responses and easy to deal with.

We enjoyed our stay at Green Bay Villa 17 and would definitely return if visiting that area of Cyprus again. The villa was comfortable, the pool a good size, walking distance to a small shop and café (the bakery nearby does not bake bread – it’s a café with amazing cakes).

The cul-de-sac was quiet and location great for exploring the coast along this region. It was too hot to walk to the beach – the measurements stated on site are probably as the crow flies but walking round the windy roads it would probably take 20 mins or so to reach the coast. The coves nearby were quiet, with sunbeds and a pleasure to visit, even though the sand isn’t as soft as other busier nearby beaches of Fig Tree Bay and Konnos.

When we first arrived at the villa we were a quite surprised that the photos must be architect images and not real photos of the villa. The fixtures, fittings and furniture were not as the photos and the outside area was slightly different. We would have booked the villa even if it had real photos, it is nicely furnished, well equipped, very clean and only very slightly looking a little tired.

Only couple of small issues to mention. The outdoor seating area was not cushioned, so not the most comfortable to use and it was a shame that there is no furniture on the roof top, as this was much cooler in the evenings than sitting around the table by the pool. I’d like to see the return of sofa cushions and the sofa moved to the roof for our next visit!

We didn’t know the region very well and would have made use of a fact sheet of where the best restaurants, supermarkets and apps to use for deliveries.
