A hotel that also includes a boarding house is located on the hill that dominates the city's main squares next to the church.||The receptionist knew English, was kind and professional||The hotel has a spa that we have not tried||The rooms in the boarding house are large, spacious, carefully designed and no doubt recently renovated, in one of the rooms the bed was electrically adjustable||The bathroom has a large shower, a sink with a wide surface.||The towels have seen better days, obviously not new||In the TV room, coffee set, small refrigerator, desk that can be used for working with a computer, radiator for heating, there was no air conditioning, but during the visit was also not necessary. There is a facility for placing a suitcase, a wardrobe and also a seating area with 2 designed armchairs.||The room has many electrical sockets scattered everywhere and allow charging of electrical appliances: cell phone, computer, toothbrush||The room has excellent and non-dim lighting, near the bed a switch that allows general shutdown and also communication sockets||But, when the general light is turned off, the sockets disconnect and so in fact at night the electrical equipment is not charged, I found that the socket in the bath does not disconnect||At the bedside there is no side dresser and no personal reading lighting||Those arriving by car should note that the navigation apps lead to the wrong location. Enter the church next to the hotel as an address and navigate accordingly. We tried to get help from the police at the police station located about 300 m as the crow flies from the hotel, but they could not explain how to get to the address that appears on the website, we spent a lot of time finding the place.||The hotel has close, spacious and inexpensive private parking||A good breakfast is served at the hotel in a...
Read moreWe stayed here recently and were a little disappointed. Be careful if you book via Booking.com as it makes it seem as though you will get a room with a sauna and bath. This is not the case and even the man on reception said it could be potluck which room you will get (and we could have asked before hand). We finally settled on the room with the steam shower. The room was comfortable, albeit extremely hot even with the radiators turned off. The balcony was nice too.||For a 4 star this hotel is missing some tricks. There were no dressing gowns or slippers in the room - these could be purchased for 20czk separately. There was no shower gel, shampoo or creams or shower caps in the bathroom. The room had bottled soap, but this was barely a quarter full.||The breakfast is very basic, no variety. They didn’t even have a cappuccino, when we asked they said they couldn’t make one but could bring over warm milk. The staff at breakfast were pleasant and friendly. ||On the last day we asked for the room to be cleaned and beds made - which it was. We returned to the hotel around 7pm and went to take a shower but there was no soap in the bottle, it was not replenished. We called reception but were informed that house-keeping had left for the day and they could not do anything about it. I was even advised to go out and buy some myself, I was quite shocked at this.||I do not think we are asking for much. A 4 star should have much better service and more toiletries etc. available. I doubt we...
Read moreLet me start by saying the staff is super friendly and helpful with what they can assist with. The hotel is in a great location at the center of town and within walking distance of shops, museums, pubs, and eateries. The hotel breakfast has a good selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, eggs, and fruit. The rooms appear to be hit and miss. The shower is tiny with barely enough room to move without hitting something - including the water temperature handle. One wrong move and it’s an ice bath or you’re getting cooked. The shower also has no place to rest your razor, soap, or anything else you usually put on a shower shelf. My room had no air conditioning, but it sounds like there may be a few that do. Unfortunately, the hotel was booked and I could not move to a cooler room. They did have fans upon request which helped a little, but it was still hot for a few of the days nonetheless. It took until the wee hours of the morning to get down to a tolerable temperature. Another downside is getting light early during the summer. The rooms do not have light blocking windows, so if you wake up with the light, prepare for some early mornings. Not all rooms have a mini fridge. My colleague had one, but my room did not. Also, don’t go by the pictures on their website for room examples. We booked two standard rooms and they were vastly different in terms of size and commodities. Overall a nice little boutique hotel in the town, just make sure you know what you’re getting so not to be...
