Bona Serva is a place I would advise all travellers to avoid, for the simple reason this is not a hotel but more of a shack.||||The building has various offices/ colleges on four floors & on the top most floor, some rooms are let out as hotel. The other rooms are used by students as apartments for their stay. There are no windows in the room & the only way natural light enters is through a glass in the ceiling, which cannot be opened. The place does not have any air conditioning or coolers and in the absence of windows, the only source of air is a pedestal fan, which in our case was working sub-optimally.||||The rooms & bathroom were smelly and there was no room cleaning done during the 3 days we were there. In addition, the reception is not manned post 9pm & when we returned at 10pm, there was no one to resolve our queries (except a young student who had no clue how to resolve the issue).||||Further, while the distance to the city centre is shown as 2 kms (which is wrong as the distance is atleast 3.5 kms), there is no easy public transport available. The tram and metro station are far away. There is a bus stop nearby, but only 1 bus goes to city centre (207 if i remember correctly) and that too after taking a huge detour. We literally walked the entire distance from central station to the hotel in 35-40 minutes.||||An honest suggestion would be to book a better hotel in city centre (which might be more costly), rather than booking this place which will not allow you to relax in peace and then spend money on travelling to the city centre...
Read moreI came to this hotel and received a single room (as per my booking). I entered the room and was shocked, no window (just little one by the ceiling). Ceiling had a huge hole covered with dirty foam. It was very windy that day, draft was coming into the room. Towels had holes in them. ||I spoke to reception asking to change my room, they refused saying there is no other room available. It was very late at night so had no choice other than sleep on the street. So went to the room and thought I'll move the bed to the side so that I don't sleep right below this huge hole, I regreted I moved the bed cause under the bed I found a mountain of dusts. Went back to reception and asked to clean it, and this was done only the following day. ||The next day I asked to change room, no success. On a third day I asked if they can finally change it, they said sure, we will. Came back in the evening to find out they did not move me after all saying 'you only have one day left, you may as well sleep in the same room'. My patience depleted so after long argument I received a new room which to my surprice was decent! And guess what, fire exit plan showed my previous room as a 'shared bathroom'. So I lived in a STORAGE ROOM EX BATHROOM. I am gutted with level of customer service I received, regret ever going to this hotel. Would not...
Read moreFirst time staying at a hostel and I am pleased. The room was nice with a skylight view. Breakfast was included and it was satisfactory. The place was also clean.
I did not like the communication from the hostel prior to our arrival. There was an option to request airport transfer when booked and we proceeded to request this well over a month before we arrived. We simply got an email saying request denied, no possible options for transport. Simply denied. Better customer service would’ve been providing some options for guests. Especially those visiting for the first time.
For the most part the staff is polite and it is located just about 15 minutes from old town center. The bus stop is about a two minute walk from the hostel.
Overall I...
