A FANTASTIC place to stay!!!
Relatively cheap with good location (close to Florenc bus station, not too far from the city center). Černínova bus stop right there, with night buses going there as well; Biskupcova tram stop quite close to the place; Křižíkova metro station in a 17 mins walk. A Billa supermarket (also Tesco Express, even two, and Lidl) and a huge park — Vítkov hill with the National Monument — nearby. Many smaller nice parks around, Parukářka and others. The hostel itself even owns a tiny garden!
They accept payments by card and euros and even can exchange those for you. Personal lockers and sockets near each bed, smaller place to put your stuff near bed itself. Daily cleaning. Laundry costs 300 CZK and includes drying (and they suggest you a busket for carrying the clothes). A really good kitchen with everything you could ever need. Breakfasts they serve are good, a perfect opportunity for those who are too lazy to cook anything for themselves in mornings :D. An enormous dining room!!! Which can be also a great place where you can work if you need. And a great opportunity for socializing at the same time (people were understanding, so wouldn't touch you if seemed to be working but at the same joining a conversation happening right now wasn't such a problem). 24/7 entrance with a special card they give when you check in (in comparison to hostels which often don't separate entrances and it takes you years to get inside, going through hundreds of doors where you have to call and wait until someone inside answers). I loved the interior and enjoyed a lot backgroung music playing there sometimes (and added some of the songs from there to my own playlists :D).
Professional and friendly staff, who would always suggest help or an advice. Even more, they were trying to arrange everything in the best way for you even if you don't ask for it and had no idea this could be done (trying to switch reservations to get a lower bed for you or to keep the same bed for you so that you don't have to move if you extend your stay).
For long-to-explain reasons I unexpectedly was forced to stay in Prague for the whole month and, even though I found this place more or less randomly, I liked it so much I didn't even try to look for other places and just spent there...

Read moreFirst of al I have booked the room 2 months prior moving in. I was placed in a room in basement where were 2 beds and no windows at all. The room was located close to common places such as living room, diner room, bath and 2 restrooms. Crowds of noisy students walked and scream around, disturbing me when I tried to fell asleep. Air in the room was extremely humid: I had a mistake by washing my tight and shorts and leaving them in the room (3 night later they still absolutely wet). All my papers and even money became wet after few days in the room. I'm not picky about the cheap places to stay during travelling, but this one was unhealthy (made me hard to breath). Lack of window turned to be uncomfortable after 3rd night I spent there I lost a sense of morning/night. There are no towels, too. Shower is dark and has such a pumping system: you push once and water runs for 3 seconds and stops, then you have you push again. No mirror in the room made me walking to the restroom to use it. Btw, restroom had no outlet to plug hair dryer/iron. Blankets were covered with silky dishausting sheets. There is common room downstairs where people can smoke, so the smell goes in rooms. (I also got the feeling that some people smokes in their rooms) People who lived there never slept and made a lot of noise all the time (even 4 a.m. the could stay in the corridor in front of my room and scream or laughing, shutting the door). I have no idea what was going on upstairs: maybe there are better rooms. However, in the section I lived were 3 rooms (2 double rooms and 1 with 15 beds) and we had 1 shower and 2 toilets. After all, nothing was that bad as humidity lack of windows and smoke, which turn your living to nonstop bar atmosphere. I lived there 7 night and dreamed of leaving that place. Good things: relatively close to center, Florenc (intercity bus station), grocery store. There are no that many varieties for the breakfast, but they always served few kinds of bread, soft cheese, yogurt, musli, milk and corn flakes. There are many free maps and travelling information. Staff was very very nice...
