This is probably one of the better three star hotels I’ve stayed in.
The rooms are clean and tidy. They are recently renovated or appear to be.
You receive a code for the hotel main door and your room prior to arrival which is great, as if you are late there’s no issue and there is no hanging around.
The room had a desk, TV and lots of information about the local area and included a map.
The shower appeared to have a door missing as you could not fully cover the door area, resulting in large amount of water flooding into the bathroom floor. There was shower gel free for use and all towels were included.
Breakfast was downstairs from 8-10 and was as per the images below. There was a large group of people staying and this crowded the breakfast area which is quite small, which resulted in me returning twice at different times and close to 10am, although the food was still available. On the final day I went for breakfast when it opened as you can see there was plenty to eat.
There are a number of vending machines inside the place, I never went to them, but you can get snacks from these too.
I walked to the old town everyday and it took me about 30 minutes.
There are a number of restaurants and shops nearby to the hotel and they appeared...
Read morePro's - Clean room and bathroom, strong water pressure in shower, large room and floor space, location, kind receptionist, good communications, keypad entry system.
Con's - Very basic furniture (nothing like the pictures), single bed, curtains had gaps so light came in from sides, windows hard to open fully, no air conditioning or fan, no fridge, paper thin walls / poor noise insulation, noisy road outside.
I also didn't know about the basic kitchen facilities provided outside in the hallway which I noticed on the last day. This may have been partly due to the lights always being out in the hallway and it being pitch black in there. The temperature was quite hot in Prague so I had to keep the windows open but there was a lot of noise throughout the night from traffic. Also, there were people being sick / vomiting late into the night which could be heard through the walls. They only changed the towels once in a 4 night stay which is fine with me as I believe it's better for the environment but this should be reflected in the price which it is not. I suppose I am expecting a better hotel as I am used to the 5 star ones available in places like Thailand for this price. Overall, I wouldn't...
Read moreTo be really honest: I have been there already a few times and the accommodation is located in a very nice area and the rooms are clean, BUT the prices are already ridiculous. I know and understand that this whole package has somehow a charity character and money will be donated, but if you ask for a really basic (but yes: clean) room for 70, 80, 100 euros a night, then something is going wrong. Then you have a Robin Hood Syndrome were you exploit customers/travellers to give the money to poor people. And I think it is partly okay, if you are doing this. But you shouldn't forget that not ALL guests are rich (btw a rich person wouldn't book your rooms) and so the room rates are definitely overpriced. Around 40 Euros would be okay, maybe sometimes 50, but to ask for 80 or even 100 is for me a reason NOT to book there again. There are old carpets, the accommodation has hospital charme and you need to check out until 10 a.m, like in the 1980s. Sorry but 80 or 100 Euros - no...
