Kavárna Zanzibar — Restaurant in Prague

Never have I ever met such a disrespectful restaurant owner. It's as if he actually doesn't want to do business at all.

My girlfriend and I were sitting down at RON Bar, which is right next door, and she wanted to get coffee and a cake from the neighboring cafe, as we had enjoyed them at Cafe Zanzibar before, and RON is a just a bar. She went in to ask politely whether they wouldn't mind bringing it to us, or if they would prefer us to take the cake and coffee to-go to avoid any issues. The owner reluctantly agreed, but then as he came to give us the order, he was not shy to remark that we're a-holes for doing this and we should think twice before doing it again...??? I would have understood if there was no to-go option available, but for the owner to harass us like this over him having to walk an extra 3 feet after he himself chose to serve us rather than make the order to-go is insane. My girlfriend finished the meal quickly and went to return the plate and mug herself, so that the servers wouldn't have to go looking for them, and was met with more sny remarks and a refusal to tell her where she should put the mug and plate.

Truly a baffling experience, and I would recommend staying away from this place even though the food and drinks are amazing. It really is a shame that the owner of such a nice place has to be so pretentious...

Wow incredibly unprofessional, no real website, Restaurant closes at midnight so my wife and I placed reservations for 10pm for an hour and half sitting. I Have patroned this restaurant 3-4 other occasions on separate times in Prague. My wife and I arrive at 9:47 pm and are given a full menu and allowed to make our selections. The waitress then comes and we tell here our order then the waitress tells us the kitchen closes at 10pm and no food can be ordered. Very unprofessional I have never been handed a full menu then allowed to make my selection the told the kitchen is closed. This was my favorite evening restaurant to come to now probably my 5th and I'll no longer come from the other side of the city just to eat at. Maybe if I'm passing by... NO WHERE WAS 10Pm kitchen closing time listed or communicated...

Don’t waist your time on this place!!! Bad service waited 35 minutes for a simple sandwich and super acidity coffee!!! When I asked the server why it took so long our food. She said she doesn’t work in the kitchen.

Reply: spell check!! By the way at the time we ordered our food we were the only people besides one other girl that was finishing in your café. Your server the girl with the blond hair never once checked on us was constantly on her cell phone at one point I started staring at her to see if I can get her attention she never once looked up from her phone for over six minutes I timed her!!!! If you are the owner ot the manager maybe you should do a little bit of quality control with your staff and make sure that the people that are paying your rent and pay you and your staff are doing their job and not on social media while the (customers) are waiting for food!!! Like I said before....BAD...
