Sady Svatopluka Čecha — Attraction in Prague

Sady Svatopluka Čecha je park s dětským hřištěm v oblasti pražských Vinohrad, městský obvod Praha 2, lemovaný ulicemi Vinohradská, Šumavská, Slezská a U Vodárny. Plocha sadů je 2,3 hektaru.Sady byly založeny roku 1893 v západní části tehdejšího dvora usedlosti Nigrinka. Půdorys parku téměř stejný, jako je dnes, byl poprvé zaznamenán již roku 1890 na plánu města Prahy pod názvem Růžové sady. Vznikly zřejmě podle návrhu architekta Františka Josefa Thomayera, nikde ale není skutečného záznamu o tom, kdo park skutečně vybudoval. Jméno po Svatopluku Čechovi dostaly ještě za jeho života v roce 1903, od roku 1924 je v nich umístěn jeho bronzový pomník s kamenným podstavcem, autorem je sochař Jan Štursa. Za druhé světové války zde byla vyhloubena protipožární nádrž, ze které později vznikl zahradní bazén. Po válce byla oplocena terasa na východní straně, dnes je zde dětské hřiště, čímž byla přerušena spojnice ulice Kladská – náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad. Roku 1980 byla při stavbě metra zbudována v západní části parku větrací šachta. Vlivem této šachty došlo dle některých odborných studií ke stržení podzemních vod, čímž postupně docházelo k rychlému rozpadu stromoví a keřoví v celé nadmořské výšce 250 až 265 metrů ve které se park nachází. Ideální místo pro odpočinek a relaxaci v centru Prahy pro všechny věkové kategorie.

Sady Svatopluka Čecha ist ein Park mit einem Kinderspielplatz in der Gegend von Prags Vinohrady, Prag 2, der von den Straßen Vinohradská, Šumavská, Slezská und U Vodárny begrenzt wird. Die Fläche der Obstgärten beträgt 2,3 Hektar. Die Obstgärten wurden 1893 im westlichen Teil des damaligen Innenhofs des Nigrinka-Gehöfts gegründet. Der Grundriss des Parks, fast der gleiche wie heute, wurde erstmals 1890 auf der Karte der Stadt Prag unter dem Namen Růžové sady aufgezeichnet. Sie wurden wahrscheinlich vom Architekten František Josef Thomayer entworfen, aber nirgends gibt es eine wirkliche Aufzeichnung darüber, wer den Park tatsächlich gebaut hat. Es wurde 1903 zu Lebzeiten nach Svatopluk Čech benannt und beherbergt seit 1924 sein Bronzedenkmal mit einem Steinsockel. Der Autor ist der Bildhauer Jan Štursa.Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurde hier ein Feuerwehrauto ausgegraben, das später zu einem Gartenbecken wurde. Nach dem Krieg war die Terrasse auf der Ostseite eingezäunt, heute gibt es einen Kinderspielplatz, der die Verbindung zwischen der Kladská-Straße und dem Jiřího z Poděbrad-Platz unterbrach. 1980 wurde während des Baus der U-Bahn im westlichen Teil des Parks ein Lüftungsschacht gebaut. Nach einigen Expertenstudien wurde das Grundwasser aufgrund dieses Schachtes abgerissen, was nach und nach zum raschen Zerfall von Bäumen und Sträuchern auf der gesamten Höhe von 250 bis 265 Metern führte, in der sich der Park befindet. Absolutely LOVED this little park, not too crowded and the water feature you could go in was definitely a life saver in the 27° heat! A little further out than the main tourist area so it felt more relaxed and peaceful. Several families with young children having a play in the water, and a few people relaxed reading on benches or picnicking on the grass. There's a drinking fountain right next to the water, which was another bonus in the heat. The surrounding area is beautiful, with all the old colourful buildings peeking through the trees, topped off nicely with a sculpture...

A smallish park in the heart of Vinohrady offering beautiful grassy areas for picnics, lots of trees and shades, benches for sitting down and relaxing. There's a fountain and a statue of the writer Svatopluk Čech. The park is popular with families with children. It is not too quiet though as it is located near the tram track and stops. However it is a nice green spot in the residential area, convenient to stop by and rest...
