Hotel Castello Italiano — Hotel in La Hispaniola

I won't write a long review about this hotel because it's not even worth my effort...||but... I thought I would warn the next tourist on it's way to Boca Chica...||||Please stay away from this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!||||first reason: Horrible, small, dirty room...||second reason: Horrible, unfriendly, attitude, simply mean girl at the reception...||||Pool... hahahaha that is not a pool, dirty, broken chairs and the size of a 2 baths put together.||||simply stay away ... pay 10-15$ more to be in a safe place and mostly clean!!!!!||||I visited it... wanted to stay at Castello Italiano... turned around after putting one foot step in the room................ After walking in the little narrow hall... DIRTY!! wow... I said no way... I can't stay here... I looked like a jail cell. I told the girl... I can't stay here, I will find something else... She looked at me and said, fine good luck and keep on looking.||STAY AWAY!||||We stayed Villa Mariana else for almost the same price....||Horrible place,...

Late review since I stayed here a little over a year ago but stayed 2 nights. Person running it was Italian man. Has a tiny pool but was fairly. Rooms are like little cabanas and were ok. Small safe box. Needs updating. Had a security guard there at night. I flew into SDQ and wanted to do some fishing and enjoy some beach before going to Santiago. I made reservations and didn't have to pay until I got there. Anyways couldn't find any reservations and wanted to charge me 35 but agreed to honor 30 a night. When you enter there is a small counter on the right where they conduct business and also make food and can get drinks there. The pool is right near there too. There are better options for 30-35 a night like Casa Coco which I decided to spend a night at which I liked better. Noise from an adjacent room bothered me since they were loud and drinking a lot with some girls till 4-5 am. Not the hotel's fault for...

Ya, it's run down. ||Yea, the shower curtain was torn. ||Yea, it could use paint and tlc.||But||We stayed for 3 nights one week and returned for 2 nights the following week. We played games every night in the front porch lounge area. ||||The pool has tropical problems with leaves and dust so it was not the nicest pool...but it's walking distance to beaches, restaurants and the staff are so friendly. ||||Yea for the price, I'd do it again. Think of it as camping. We saw no rats or cockroaches. Mildew is a problem in any tropical environment and there was very little of that here. ||||If you want 5 stars, don't do it. ||If you want cheap, friendly and...
