Liked ||· The hostel is at the far end of Olmedo in the old town and thus relatively quiet.||. Beds have power outlets and have individual headlamps (no curtain).||. They have very comfortable seats in communal spaces.||. WiFi worked well.||||Disliked ||· Whenever someone rings the bell, the dog starts barking. The acoustics in the patio amplify the noise. Guests do not get a key. Everyone has to ring the door bell.||. When I extended my stay at the counter I had to pay more than the price listed on the booking sites! Other hostels charge you less as they do not have to pay a commission. When I consequently booked online, they sent me an email to refer to their own website to receive a discount, but a discount not offered. Strange.||. Online prices vary, so keep track.||. The showers work with an electrical device, as a result: lukewarm water, or a hot trickle.||. Very strict rules. For instance you are not allowed to take a cup outside the kitchen area.||||Still overall these are minor issues, except for the dog barking, which after four days made me decide to go to...
Read moreI was here 5 years ago and I loved the place. When I decided to come back to Quito I had no doubts this was the place I was going to stay again. The location is great, lot of local restaurant nearby and few steps from the old town. The atmosphere is very quiet (definitely not a party hostel) and cosy. The owners are very helpful and careful, and they will share with you tons of information. You will feel like home! Rooms and bathroom are big and clean, lockers are very big and safe! The building itself is amazing, with a beautiful internal courtyard with tables and an higher floor to enjoy the beauty of the building! Internet connection is fairly decent, if you stay in the common area (which is very calm) you can easily handle video calls and download/upload of every kind of file. They have 2 very nice dogs that will be often around, so if you like pets, that's the place for you! Next time I'll be in Quito I will...

For one year I lived in Ecuador, more precisely in Quito. Half of that time I stayed in an apartment inside the hostel. Although my favorite little creatures are Oliver and Bruno, the most adorable dogs in all of Ecuador, I cannot fail to mention how much affection and admiration I have for Tania and her family. They are people who welcome you with open arms, who have created in their home an atmosphere of rest and peace, right in the middle of the lively Historic Center. I only moved out because of work. If I hadn’t needed to move within Ecuador, I surely would have never left that place. If you are looking for a place to find peace, to rest, where people are calm and you can relax without worries—whether for a short or long stay—this hostel is the place for you. Tania is a manager who puts her heart, her effort, and her affection into every corner of every room of the hostel. You can truly see the dedication and care she puts into everything she does. Not only for the guests, but also because she sees that place as her home and the home of her family. Tania’s husband, Aron, is also very kind and attentive, as is their daughter. They all have such beautiful hearts and are always ready to welcome and help. Without a doubt, it is one of the few places in Ecuador where I left a piece...
