Pros:||- QUIET, i did not need earplugs at all yay! (stay in a garden room)||- Beautiful gardens with fresh air (the traffic fumes in Cuenca are awful, but this extends into the middle of the block so air is 1000x better||- Super friendly helpful staff - Franz and the ladies have such nice warm energy they all are perfect for hospitality industry||- Best breakfast I've had ||- Great value||- Comfortable nice warm bed linens||- Easy to walk everywhere||- I ended up staying 6 nights and will return here when I'm coming back through Cuenca||||Cons:||- None, just stay here, some people said it was a bit of a walk to other places, just depends on where you want to go, and I spent most of my days walking walking walking, so there is no one perfect location in Cuenca. Very easy to walk anywhere and close to the Plaza Calderon.||||When i arrived in Cuenca I stayed at another place for one night that I couldn't wait to leave. I walked around to about 5 hostals the next morning and Macondo was the last and the best. You canât beat the price and they have a nice breakfast.||It is a beautiful old mansion within the central district of Cuenca, so itâs easy to walk to historic sites and many great restaurants.||However what stands out are the people working here - they are fabulous to say the least!
