This is a converted colonial mansion with all the charm you would expect from it's history. Much of it has been wonderfully restored and/or designed to be a quite lovely. There are a few drawbacks, however.||||The two issues I had were that the rooms not facing the street have no outward facing windows and no ventilation. That said, the rooms can get quite stuffy with two people in them. The solution is to open in the inward facing window, but of course you lose a bit of privacy as the other guests could walk right past the open window on the way to and from their rooms. Also, and this was mentioned by others, the hot water. One night, the hot water was just non existent. The rest of the time, though, it was AMAZING and powerful. Best shower I had in Ecuador by far. So while I wouldn't worry about the hot water per se, keep in mind it may be an issue.||||Other than those two relatively minor issues, this place is highly recommended. Service was exceptional and so was the breakfast. You will feel very safe and...
Read moreWe rented the entire hotel for the guests for our son's wedding in Cuenca. Sonia was so accommodating and helpful with whatever we needed to make our stay special and memorable. There is plenty of room in the common area to socialize, WIFI was adequate for those of us that had to work away from home, breakfast was cooked to order with great coffee, eggs, and fruit. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well furnished. Sonia was very responsive to our emails and questions about rooms and booking. We know our costs up front and there were no surprises. Location was convenient to walk to the square, church, markets, restaurants, and just about everywhereI would highly recommend staying here on your next...
Read moreLa posada cuencana is close to all main attractions in the beautiful city of Cuenca. From here you will not even need a taci to go to most of the beautiful places this city has to offer. The hotel has a besutiful decoration and very nice rooms.||A downturn may be that the rooms and the hotel itself is a little bit noisy. When people arrives they have to ring a bell and it is like at home, all rooms may hear the ring. The rooms have wooden floor and beds and are noisy when you walk or you move on the bed.||The TV is small but adequate for the room size and havea good channel offer.||I recommend this hotel for people on a budget and That don't care about a little bit more noise that in a...
