DoubleTree by Hilton Guayaquil — Hotel in Guayaquil

What a nice place to finish our month long adventure. The location was convenient to the cable car, old city, 10 minute walk to Las Peñas, Santa Ana along the River Walk or the road with police presence to insure safety. Restaurants are nearby, good food in the hotel or at the pool. The breakfast buffet was a plus, we had lunch at the pool. Ground floor is Listo mini market/fast food if you do not want fine dining. At the corner is Gourmet Market italian food with great drinks. The staff was helpful, they arranged our taxi and since we had a midnight flight, they kept our bags and we had access to the pool. Wish the pool was open earlier for tanning because by 9:30 it was hot and then by 11 the chairs were in the shade of the building. We stayed here for one night as a stopover between Cuenca and JFK. The hotel was very modern, located right next to Malecon 2000 - but about 2 blocks away from the entrance. We were upgraded to a King Suite thanks to our Hilton Gold status as well as a birthday wish from the reception. The suite was spacious and very modern with a living room and a corner bedroom with a river view. I was looking forward to the rooftop infinity pool, but it doesn’t open until 9 a.m., which coincides with our flight departure time. We did spend some time sipping cocktails at the rooftop bar (by the pool) and chatting up with the friendly bartender that made us some killer drinks! My stay was fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We became friends with Yandri, the pool bartender, who stood out for his exceptional service. He not only mixed great drinks but also provided us with directions to tourist attractions and offered personal recommendations. He always greeted us with a warm smile and wished us a lovely day, making our time there unforgettable.
