Sweet & Coffee - Malecón — Restaurant in Guayaquil

The hours posted on the front door said they were open until 11pm, I went at 10pm, and they wouldn't let me in because they said they were closed due to not many people wanting service that late. At the same time, there were 15 people sitting outside as well as a handful of people still sitting inside, and myself, my girlfriend and another couple were tryingn to get in to eat, and were denied.

So we left and came back this morning. I got a pie de limon, that are normally large portions and delicious, but this portion was half the size of the normal portions. It was tiny.

Not sure what is happening at this location, but I will be going to the other sweet and cofee's now.

I would avoid this location...

If you are walking along Malecon (waterfront) this is a great place to stop for a snack and drink. You can sit inside or out and inside is air conditioned so it can feel like walking into a refrigerator. There was a wide variety of coffee....the latte frio was wonderfully refreshing on a hot day. There was a huge selection of sweets and some savoury snacks too. The caramel apple cheesecake was wonderful! There are also clean restrooms...

In addition to a good selection of pastries and cold beverages, there's an outdoor patio with shade trees overhead and indoor air conditioned space with sample seating. I was surprised to see "traditional bread pudding" offered. It's not everyone's favorite but it's one of mine. So 5 stars for an overall good experience.
