Hotel David — Hotel in Itchimbia

The only reason this place isn't 1 star is because of the amazing staff. We booked for 4 nights and the first day we arrived to one of the rooms that looked similar to the photos posted with a balcony, the room smelled of sewage. The room and bathroom was clean, but the smell would come from the pipes. The room is also directly above an electronics store that would play music from loud speakers from open to close. Even at night, the cars and sound from the street would fill the room even with the balcony doors closed (they were not well sealed at all). When we asked to be moved to a quieter room that didn't smell bad, the only rooms available were in the back of the hotel which is where most of the rooms were located. These rooms were very spartan in their appeal. Very small with no ventilation whatsoever unless the small window open to the rest of the hotel was open. The walls are paper thin and the hotel has sounds from the neighborhood come in from the top of the hotel which is not renovated at all and open to the air. Everything about the hotel is low quality, much lower than expected even for the inexpensive price. NO POTABLE WATER ANYWHERE IN THE HOTEL. We only lasted to the 2nd night before we had to leave early and book another hotel in the area If you're looking to have a terrible night sleep at an affordable price, this "hotel" is for you. Every person at this hotel is incredibly rude, this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Do not give your money to these thieves! Ended up staying ONE night out of our planned SEVEN nights. ||||Booked a junior suite, everything pre paid, arrived to check in the first night, our room was not available (the one we paid in advance for!) Was eventually told they over booked (the people in the room decided to stay one more night...), no apologizes, had to ask and pry an answer out of the night worker. He stated he could not do anything we would have to wait in the morning for more answers, our only choice was to sleep in a smaller room. Was told this was the same type of room, with the things we paid for, until I showed the gentleman the things we “knew” we PAID for. He had no response, asked if we could get a refund of the difference of the smaller room compared to the Junior Suite, was told no. Did not apologize, did not offer anything besides a smaller room, with non of the amenities we paid for we’re in the room we were forced to stay in. They refused to refund, or give us the difference. The next morning we talked with a women, who was more rude and difficult then the man in the evening. Told us a completely different story then over booking, refused to refund the difference, never apologized. Acted like it was our (customers) fault this happened.||||The room we stayed in was freezing cold, small, had none of the amenities we paid for, the floors in the bathroom did not come with a mat and we slipped getting out of the shower. My room rate was $45.10 for 1 night suite, because I paid with my credit card they charge you a SURCHARGE to pay with credit card almost $10 was charged $55.02. Nothing on website mentions anything about SURCHARGES on paying with credit card BEWARE!!, issue with suite: non working fire place, non working safe, on/off switch in bathroom broken, when you shower the water leaks and gets all over the bathroom floor. My window was a view old condemned building, area is shady at night don't recommend to go out after 7pm, nothing around totally dead. Informed the Manager and it's as though he didn't care because he would go and fix the problems in the room and never got back to me nor was it fixed like the light switch in bathroom. Bed the mattress hard as a rock couldn't sleep. Breakfast, 1 bread roll, one egg scrambled, half slice of watermelon & half slice papaya, asked for tea and no lemons, no butter & no jam for bread, asked a question and server didn't know how to respond about butter, jam, or sliced lemons. Overall don't recommend for that price I was overcharged I could have stayed in an Airbnb in the section of the Carolina facing the gorgeous park and in a fancy modern condo with pool for that same price. ...
