This is a very clean, well-staffed, older hotel a few blocks from the popular night spots in the Mariscal Sucre neighborhood. At the price, it is a bargain. By US standards my room was small, but it was well-maintained and comfortable. The WiFi was easily accessible and fast enough to be useful. They had staff on duty at the breakfast bar to keep things refreshed, the selection and quality were good, and the area had a bright, cheerful feel.
As everyone says, you should drink bottled water. There was only one bottle in my room, and I quickly exhausted it. It took me a bit to realize that the policy of the hotel is to place water coolers on the landings between floors, and you can refill the bottle as you like. Your stay will undoubtedly be more pleasant if you know this ahead of time.
If you like to explore on foot, the immediate neighborhood may disappoint. Staff was friendly & helpful. ||||Breakfast was included and very good, but we struggled to feed my daughter. She has celiac disease, and gluten-free seemed to confuse them. However, after attempting to communicate the requirements (the staff speaks very little English), the manager came over and spoke to us. That afternoon, she went out and bought a loaf and GF bread, and from the second day, the made arrangements to feed her. I really appreciate their assistance. ||||All-in-all, the hotel is fine. If you are younger than me, and looking for an active nightlife, you'd probably be...
