Hostal del Piamonte — Hotel in Mariscal Sucre

I arrived at the hostel a little past six at night after three long days of travel. I unfortunatly speak very little spanish. The man at the front desk was helpful and very patient with me. He found me a room even though the website said that there wasn't one available. The bed and pillow were some of the best I've had (I was in room four). The location was perfect to walk to all of the nightlife and lots of restaurants but not loud at all. Because this is in the 'Zona Rosa' area I think the restaurants are a little pricey though. The bathrooms were just average but clean. I wasn't able to get hot water but that might just be opperator error. The next morning I went down for breakfast (free), and they told me that due to prior reservations they didn't have room for me that night. To my surprise, when I came down to check out they called around to other hostels for me to find me a room for that night. The guy at the desk then walked me to the corner where I met up with the guy from the other hostel so that he could show me where it was. They went far above and beyond. I would absolutly stay here again and recommed it to friends. Oh, no lockers but they'll hold your things at the front desk for you. Pretty good wifi...

We, two friends, booked for a night and asked for two beds. The guy showed us our room only to be woken up hours later when we were already sleeping telling us we were in the wrong room and had to move to another room with more beds. Now we didn't mind moving to another room but we do mind the fact that he only came to realise his own mistake so late at night that he felt the need to wake us up again. And than the attitude. .... not even saying sorry but trying to put the blame on us while he showed us the room. Then he shows us the room wanting us to sleep in 1 small double bed. Tried to explain to him that we are not sleeping in one bed when we paid for two beds but the guy just acted like a jerk ths whole time. It would have been fine if they just tried to solve it elegantly but that word does not excist in...

We arrived around 9:30 pm on a Saturday night after an extremely stressful day of travel. We popped into 3 hostels, which were all completely booked before we stopped into this one.|The hostel was clean, the beds were clean, and the staff was friendly/helpful. Breakfast is free and made-to-order each morning. And laundry was super fast. The hostel is also in a great location. |The only downsides were that there were many families, which meant children. That is unusual to backpackers. At times the families staying there could be quite loud. And the beds could definitely have been more comfortable. I sank quite a ways into my Magic Dalmations bed.
