I stayed here a total of 5 nights between G Adventure trips. While the hotel itself is okay depending on where you stay in the two towers the staff weren’t the kindest. Checkout is at 11 but I was called at 9 and told I needed to leave my room soon if I wanted to get my new room later that day. As I was packing and on the phone with my mom the receptionist came upstairs twice banging on the door to tell me I needed to move. She even offered for housekeeping to pack my stuff for me. It was weird situation and I finished packing and left about 10 minutes later, but if the checkout is posted for 11am I expect that to be adhered to. Another time between G adventures trips me and the other girl I was sharing a room with waited in the lobby for over an hour and a half after the listed check in time as our room wasn’t ready. Eventually the man gave us a different room in the hotel very unhappily.
Overall just not the best experiences at this hotel with 5 nights in 5 different rooms due to the staff needing to move me around. If you have to stay here with a G Adventures trip that’s one thing, but if you don’t there are lots of other nice hotels...
Read moreI've been staying at Kitu Hotel during work trips to Quito for the last few years. I like starting my stay here because of the high quality of service, the familiarity of the place, and the quality of the space. The hotel feels safe, has outdoor patios, and the cost includes breakfast. They also offer scheduled taxi service from UIO to the hotel for $30. This is slightly more expensive than paying for a taxi at the airport, but knowing that someone trustworthy will be there waiting when I arrive (at any time of day!) is well worth the small extra expense. Many times it is Augusto who is working at the hotel when I arrive. He is extremely polite and goes out of his way to make me feel at home. The cleaning (Nelly) and cooking staff are also wonderful. I feel lucky to have stumbled on this place and look forward to continuing visits for...
Read moreDue to my partner and I falling ill on our holiday we had to leave our previous hotel for the local hospital, then had a choice between the mecure or this one, I made my decision based on price, the hotel Kitu being much cheaper but would happily stay again for the service provided. Everyone was so welcoming, from the night staff helping us after a stressful day to Nadia Povea, the very helpful, insightful receptionist. Nadia single-handedly recused the tail end of our holiday, her suggestions were fantastic, spoke amazing English (much better than our Spanish), and couldn't do more to help us enjoy our stay. The hotel owners should feel lucky they have a brilliant staff member with her at the helm steering guests. Thank you Kitu for the lovely stay we had, and thank you Nadia for everything. Hope many more people have the chance...
