Pros: Amazing service. Authentic Egyptian breakfast. Central location. Comfortable bed. Currency exchange just a block away with better rate than the airport. We got a free upgrade to a suite. The hotel also held our luggage for almost a week while we traveled up the Nile.
Cons: Windows not sound proof and Egyptian drivers use the horn quite liberally 24/7. It didn't bother me but my traveling companion needed to take sleeping meds every night. Room was clean but furniture was old. The couch had stains on the arm rest and one of the cushions looked like someone spilled coffee all over it. It didn't ruin the stay for us or anything but that fabric really needed to be cleaned.
Overall great price for the location. We enjoyed exploring much of central Cairo on foot.
Traveling tips: Trust no one who approach you on the streets. If they claim to be police or authority, ask for ID. Be very careful when offered to smell perfume. Always rub a little on the back of your wrist and never smell straight from the bottle. Don't get on a camel or horse at the Pyramids, you will likely get scammed. Large cameras are not allowed inside the Pyramids. Leave them only with the tourist police. Beware of scammers dressed like ticket vendors at Pyramids. They will ask to "check" tickets but will not give them back to you unless you agree to get on their camel. If this happens to you, threaten to call the tourist police (there are many around). You may find people loitering outside the hotel claiming to work for the hotel. They do not. Don't follow them or do what they say. If you received good service, please tip generously. 20 pounds is only a dollar or two for you but an hour wage for most locals. If you received bad service, don't be guilted into tipping. Scammers will often ask you for cigarette money after you foiled their scam, don't give them anything. Count your change carefully. Some shops will short you...
Read moreI stayed in room (12) on the 12th floor
this is the best hotel in the middle between expensive and the cheap hotels, for me after spending 2 days searching this hotel was really good value
1- the view is amazing you can see the museum, the Nile Carlton, and some other places around the Nile, and you absolutely see the Nile too and the location is really excellent
2- The air conditioner is excellent
3- the room is big enough (bedroom and living room) TV in both rooms, but bedroom need more light and when I request more light they said it's the normal light and they can do nothing with it and the furniture in living room was very old and not comfortable
4- the staff was very good and helpful especially Muhammad Zakaria (nickname Zex Marquis 😉) and Mr. Mena was very helpful I don't know all the names but thanks to all Cleopatra Hotel staff
5- the bathroom is big, clean and very comfortable but in my first room (11) on the 13th floor shower was very baf water gose very hot and very cold suddenly, they told me they will send someone to solve it but they couldn't solve it so they changed my room and in my second room it was good enough to finish your shower.
6- very bad WiFi signal and sometimes you can't send a WhatsApp message I asked them to solve it and they sent a guy who told me I should change my place looking for WiFi signal and I already did but it's not useful at all so that's cost me more 50$ to pay my own internet from mobile networks with a WiFi device
7- the breakfast is terrible I didn't like it at all you only can get good corrasion and egg maybe
8- Laundry service was very slow
But it was good enough and very comfortable and I really enjoyed it and I will visit it...
Read moreI stayed at the Cleopatra Hotel in Cairo in the Presidential Suite, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and I was escorted to my suite right away.
The Presidential Suite was spacious, elegant, and beautifully decorated with a perfect balance of modern luxury and classic Egyptian style. The panoramic view of the city from the balcony was absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. The room featured a large living area, a comfortable king-sized bed, and a marble bathroom equipped with a jacuzzi and high-end amenities. Every detail, from the fresh flowers to the neatly arranged fruit basket, reflected great attention to hospitality.
The hotel’s location is another huge plus — it’s close to the Nile and many key attractions, making sightseeing convenient. The in-house restaurant offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, both local and international, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding. Room service was prompt, and the staff were always polite and eager to assist with any request.
The only minor drawback was that Wi-Fi could be a bit slow at times, but it wasn’t enough to affect my overall experience.
Overall, my stay at the Cleopatra Hotel was luxurious, relaxing, and memorable. I would highly recommend the Presidential Suite to anyone seeking comfort, excellent service, and a touch of royal treatment in the...
