Read more5-Star Review: Exceptional Service from Abdulah
From the moment we were seated, Abdulah made our dining experience feel personal and effortless. He greeted us with a warm smile and a welcoming attitude that immediately set the tone for the evening. It’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism with genuine friendliness so well, and Abdulah did just that from start to finish.
He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to answer our questions without ever making us feel rushed. He offered thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences, and every dish he suggested turned out to be a hit. It’s clear that he takes pride in understanding the food and ensuring each guest has the best experience possible.
Throughout the meal, Abdulah was attentive without being intrusive. He anticipated our needs—refilling drinks, clearing plates, and checking in at just the right moments. We never had to flag him down or wait for assistance, which really allowed us to relax and enjoy our time.
What stood out the most was how Abdulah made each guest at the table feel valued. Whether it was remembering a name or making a small joke, he brought a personal touch that turned a simple dinner into something memorable. It’s this level of care and attention that turns first-time visitors into regulars.
Overall, Abdulah delivered service that was far above average—professional, personable, and polished. I would absolutely return just to be seated in his section again. If you’re lucky enough to be served by Abdulah, you’re in for an...
Read moreThe pros- an easy walk from my hotel and Tahrir Square. My raspberry ice tea tasted good. Cons. The service was kind of slow. My Verde Salad came out the same time as my pasta. I needed a steak knife to cut some of the carrots, by the time I finished cutting, dressing and eating half my salad my pasta was not hot. Also the pesto pasta was an overkill of cheese. The over cheesing of pasta seem to be normal for Egyptian restaurants. It also had a ton of garlic- which was a good thing- it started offset the ashtray smell of the food- but didn't quite succeed.
I sat in a non-smoking area but even it started to smell like smoke. I saw an American family with kids walk in. When the host pointed out the non-smoking area, I saw the husband mouthed the words "too smoky" and turned around with his family.
This probably doesn't bother Egyptians or non Egyptians who smoke. It was a negative for me.
After the bill came and I left- I was surprised how fresh the air tasted compared to the inside of the restaurant. Tahrir Square on a week night isn't exactly a bastion of clean air.
I'll be in Cairo and few more days next week. I probably will not be coming back to...
