Stayed at the Ritz-Carlton twice recently in April & May 2025 before & after a Nile Cruise.||First visit we were on the 5th Floor and the room was OK, bed comfortable enough great expresso machine and room attendant even supplied sachets of purified water for my CPAP machine without asking, but at night because of functions on in the hotel it was noisy into the early hours of the morning. Breakfast in the hotel was very good, but other guests hygiene around the buffet left a lot to be desired, fingering meats, cheeses, breads with their fingers then putting them back. We ate in the hotels main restaurant for dinner, but unless you have a 'Smart Phone' you can't order because they don't have a printed Menu ( in good restaurants in the UK using your mobile phone is now frowned upon, and in many Banned until you leave, because a good meal is a time to talk to your companions, not spent staring into you phone screen.) Messi was OK , but main courses meats were served Very Well done which had been ordered Medium Rare. Dinner on the second night we used the Italian 'Vivo'. Service was superb as was all the food cooked by a 'Real' Italian Chef from Puglia who came over to check that each course was to our liking as did the restaurant manger 'Simone' who also gave us a complimentary Limoncello to finish. We also ate there on our return visit and same great service and wonderful food.||Second visit on return we were put on the 9th Floor. Nice view over to the Cairo Museum and on first impressions very nice, but sitting on the easy chair I was 'Stabbed' with a staple used to make a bad repair to the piping and also tearing a pair of trousers, fabric on the side of the sofa was also coming off. Again nights sleep on both nights was interrupted with very noisy weddings in the hotel. They forgot to 'Make up our room ' ( Regular Housman was on his day off). We used the pool twice after very hot days sight seeing and it was a delight, spotlessly clean and attendants ready to move umbrella's as the sun moved to keep you in the shade, also a good snack bar. But and it is a BIG BUT. as we had a 3.45am pick up to get us to Cairo Airport (New airport is no better than the old one) and I ordered a 'Breakfast Box' the day before, concierge wrote down our room number and date and time it was required and we were told it would be ready to to pick up at the reception desk from 3am. IT wasn't and man on the reception desk could not care less stating " What do you want me to do!" so we had to leave for the long slow drive to the airport having have nothing to eat, even though were were staying on a B&B basis.|| Will not be staying at a Ritz Carlton again, to noisy , poor attention to furnishings and not making sure Breakfast Box was there even though I had check the night before and was assured it would be ready, because as a diabetic it is important that I eat first thing in the morning to keep my sugar...
Read moreDuring my recent stay at The Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo, I found myself disappointed by the overall experience, especially considering the steep price I paid for my stay. Here is an honest review of my time at the hotel.
One of the most glaring issues I encountered was the exorbitant pricing at The Nile Ritz-Carlton. The rates charged for both rooms and services were significantly higher than what could be justified by the overall quality and experience provided. I had expected a luxurious and memorable stay commensurate with the high price tag, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
While the location of the hotel along the Nile River is certainly desirable, offering picturesque views and easy access to some attractions, it did little to compensate for the shortcomings I encountered throughout my stay. The promise of luxury and opulence associated with the Ritz-Carlton brand was not fully delivered.
One aspect that fell short of expectations was the quality of the rooms. Despite the elegant decor and comfortable furnishings, there were noticeable signs of wear and tear, indicating a lack of proper maintenance. Additionally, the size of the rooms did not justify the steep prices, leaving me feeling underwhelmed.
The service at The Nile Ritz-Carlton also left much to be desired. While some staff members were attentive and accommodating, there were instances where the service was lacking. Slow response times, unfulfilled requests, and a general lack of enthusiasm from the staff created a sense of disappointment. For the price paid, I had expected a higher level of professionalism and attentiveness.
Dining options at the hotel were underwhelming, both in terms of quality and value for money. The on-site restaurants offered limited choices, and the food did not live up to the reputation of a luxury establishment. The taste and presentation of the dishes were average at best, failing to create a memorable dining experience.
Furthermore, the amenities provided at The Nile Ritz-Carlton did not justify the high price point. The fitness center lacked modern equipment and space, limiting the options for guests looking to maintain their fitness routines. Similarly, the pool area felt crowded and did not provide the serene and relaxing atmosphere one would expect from a luxury hotel.
In summary, my stay at The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo was marred by the disappointment of paying a premium price for an experience that failed to meet expectations. The overpricing, combined with average rooms, lackluster service, underwhelming dining options, and subpar amenities, left me questioning the value provided. If you are considering a stay at this hotel, I would suggest exploring other options that offer better value for your money and a more memorable experience in Cairo.
Please note that this review reflects my personal experience and opinion during my stay at The Nile...
Read moreWell......where to begin ! I realize there is a certain expectation of quality that comes with the Ritz Carlton brand. So you expect a nice room, big comfy bed, good view, quality toiletries and a certain level of customer service. Thats what youre paying top dollar for, the brand and the expectation that comes with that brand. And all of these things were here, just as you would expect
What you can never assume, or buy, is the personalities of the staff. Sure, they are paid to make your stay a 'Ritz' stay......but deep down in their bones genuine caring kind gorgeous staff. You cant buy this. This just comes naturally to good people......and these people are good people
From the moment we arrived Matthew on the Reception desk set the bar high. He was incredibly patient with me as my husband and I fuffed around trying to decide certain things. The front desk was incredibly busy but Matthew made me feel like he had all the time in the world for me. Thank you Matthew.
Then our second home became the club lounge and the staff became our family. Mohammed Eli greeted us every day with a smile and warmth that can not be faked. He had advice for us on what to go and see. He answered our endless questions about everything and I will genuinely miss our daily chats. Thank you Mohammed.
Mariz helped us with everything we needed to book our train ticket to the next stop and even arranged for someone to go out and buy it for us from the station. Ill I had to do was look at the view and drink champers and Mariz made it all happen. Thank you Mariz
Mariz and Mohammed translated an old Bedouin saying for me, I expected it to just be on a bit of note paper but then they surprised me with it printed in beautiful Arabic script on papyrus and in a gorgeous frame. I was reduced to tears at the gesture.
Wissam, the Manager, came to chat with us every day and made sure we had everything we needed. Everyone on her team and associated Managers, Eman, Sandra, Ramy, Asmaa, Mariz and Mohammed do the Ritz Carlton brand proud. Thank you our Club Lounge friends, I wish we could take you all with us !
I was concerned with some payment limitations I had on my cards for safety while traveling. Bassem Milad the Front Office Manager helped me to change cards and make partial payments on another card. I thought it would be complicated but Bassem managed it all seamlessly. Thank you Bassem.
Abdullah Seliman took care of our room for our stay. He introduced him self to us...
