Attention: Cigarette smoke everywhere. Guest were smoking inside the rooms ! Wi-Fi was not working at all. The rest is bearable when your expectations aren’t high. It’s still in a phase of renovation,opening. Don’t be scared if you enter this huge, 100 year old building with not the best maintenance. It’s old, dated and certainly not up to any code. Lots of things missing inside, mirrors, hairdryer s etc. I arrived very late and was too cheap spending 150$ for a nice place , so this one does the job. It’s in the center of the city, so it’s really, really noisy outside. Don’t expect too much .

The guys at the reception said” what shall we do, it’s Egypt, we don’t want to spoilt the (smoking) guests’ holidays.’ What about some consideration for non-smoking guests? Unheard of. Wifi was never,ever working, even after we put a wifi extender in. Nice and friendly people working there, but that’s not making up for all these flaws and inconveniences. I stayed here with a friend for four nights and we both loved this place! I always had nice hotel staff in egypt (hurghada) but the people here were downright lovely! We gave a tip when we left to fly home and even though we did not leave any tip before we never had the feeling that we were expected to (like it usually is in the resorts). The first night my friend got cold and the next day she immediately got a heater for the room though she only asked for an extra blanket. They were always helpful and very very nice, the women as well as the men. We would definetly come back if we ever came to Cairo again and can totally recommend it. The breakfast was enough and tasted good. The room was fine (only the bathroom got completely wet when showering) but it was very loud during the night, because of the busy traffic on the streets, so I recommend using earplugs to sleep if you're sensitive about that. The location was very good. There are many things you can reach by walking in case you don't wanna use a taxi.

first of all the hotel is in the center so the good thing is that you can walk to places but the bad thing is that it is very noisy. the room is spacious with a good bed but when we went the sheets were dirty. very bad first impression. we stayed 5 nights and they never came to change the sheets or take out the trash. the boiler did not work at all. the internet is the worst you can have as you almost never connect so you have to go to the lobby to have a good connection if you are lucky. the breakfast is very poor. The people who work there are very hospitable. They really stand out.* Another thing I didn't like is that while they accept cards, they told me that it's only cash, sometimes the machine doesn't have a battery, etc. etc. Bad impression here too.
