Location Location Location. This is the greatest feature of this hotel where it lies behind the famous Abd Bakery and you are downtown close to Alhussein, Ataba, Tahrir and off course Talaat Harb. Never tried breakfast because nearby you have a million places serving authentic cuisine such as koshari, kebab, Mahshi and foul & Flafel. If you have to get work done, I highly recommend Caribou coffee or Beanos that are 10 minutes away walking. There are tens of bookstores nearby and more down the road, Soor Azbakiya sells them for pennies.
Now the only downside for the location is the fact that the hotel lies in a very narrow street and getting there by car to drop off big suitcases can be difficult. Also, there are few steps to get to the first floor so this place is not suitable for anyone that requires a wheelchair.
The staff are very welcoming, attentive and cheerful. The price is great ranging from 40 to 60$ per day. They have great WiFi which is not usually the case on Egypt even in 5 star hotels.
Now with that price range in mind and the fact that you are in downtown, its a given that the building is old. There is a lift taking you upstairs after the first few steps. The rooms are adequate and bathroom is clean. The cleaners are great and the prices are outstanding. 20 egp to iron most clothes and 40 egp for dry cleaning.
For foreigners that are visiting Egypt for the first time, kindly note that a 3 star hotel in Egypt and most of the Middle East is similar to a motel in the USA. This is not La Quinta or Best Western.
I highly recommend this place for people who just want a clean place to sleep and crash especially if a Central location is important for you.

Read moreUnethical Business Practices and Deliberate Overbooking
Our experience at this Cairo hotel was nothing short of deplorable. Despite booking nearly three months in advance through Booking.com at a reasonable rate, we arrived to find ourselves victims of a blatant bait-and-switch scheme.
On our arrival day, they contacted us to confirm our evening check-in time. However, upon reaching the hotel at 19:00, we were met with a web of contradictory excuses from management. First, they claimed sudden maintenance issues. Then, they insisted we were "late" for check-in. Finally, the truth emerged - they had deliberately given away our pre-booked room to capitalize on higher last-minute rates during the New Year's holiday.
Their "solutions" were laughable: first offering a single bed for a couple, then when we demanded they arrange and pay for alternative accommodation, they suddenly "found" two single rooms, asking my wife and I to sleep in different rooms. Meanwhile, they were still actively listing double rooms on Booking.com while claiming to us that none were available due to "system errors."
This establishment's predatory practices of overbooking and attempting to force guests into inferior accommodations is a textbook example of exploiting tourists. We ultimately had to find new accommodation late on January 1st after they finally agreed to refund us. Save yourself the hassle and stress - avoid this unethical establishment at all costs. They practically spoiled our holiday and did...
Read moreDespite booking 4 double rooms in advance for a group of 8, only 2 rooms were “available” upon arrival. They cancelled our reservation through Booking The 2 provided rooms were dirty and barely accommodating 3 people each. 8 people had to share 2 bathrooms, and the baths had curtains that caused water to spill out. Balcony doors did not lock When concerns were raised and we suggested finding another hotel, the receptionist (short, slightly curly hair) assured us that the remaining rooms would be available the next day. The receptionist's attitude was unprofessional, and he appeared to mock our situation. He was also making sexual comments and joke about “having hidden cameras in the rooms”. The next day, a different receptionist claimed no knowledge of our prior conversation and that we should be there at 12pm to give us the rooms. He was unhelpful. Management refused to refund us for the two rooms we never received. Later, a more professional staff member provided an additional triple room. Again 3 triple rooms for 4 couples was not what we wanted The breakfast was minimal, with just a single plate served per person. Also no choice for food making it difficult with diary preferences The only positive aspect of the stay was the location.
Avoid this place.
