Nile Meridien Hotel — Hotel in Cairo

This review will give you a full look as to what I experienced. The first day I checked in and the water was not working. I was given 2 water bottles but could not shower nor use the bathroom. The next day the front desk man said “it will be on this afternoon.” Later in the afternoon I went back to ask about the water and I was told “give me 30 minutes.” After this I wanted to check out and he said then AGAIN “give me 1 hour and I promise it will work.” At that point I said no and wanted to check out. He said “I can’t check you out it’s not check out time” to which I said “No, I’m checking out now.” He responded with “give me 1 hour and I promise it will work, if not then I’ll check you out” and I responded back “if you can check me out in an hour then why can’t you check me out now?” And he responded “because I give you my word.” This person was not telling the truth. I checked out that moment. The man later gave me a refund in cash rather than on my credit card, I wonder why? Maybe because he didn’t want TripAdvisor to see that he had to give a refund? Also DO NOT believe the pictures! They’re fake! They’re not what the hotel actually looks like, it’s not located next to the Nile and the garden is not a part of the hotel. Lastly the mopping coming into the building smelt...

It's a scam. The pictures are from the hotel next door the Four Seasons. You'll wish you'd stayed there instead. We stayed because it was acceptable, and we where tired, then checked out ASAP.|The Good: rooms where clean, beds comfy, didn't see a bug the whole time. Breakfast was good and included. Our stuff was untouched and safe. It's across the street from the Nile.|Location is good in downtown Cairo, walking distance museums, Cairo tower, and food.|The Bad: Paid way too much for the rooms $130. $40/night or less would have been fair, not worth anything above. It's very hard to find because owner keep changing names to avoid...

Made a booking gia Agoda to this for Garden view with balcony room only to arrive there and be given the worst possible rooms! No windows, bad smell & barely any air. Complaint to management which in return, after 45 minutes visit, said he will give us an upgrade although out booking was de Deluxe option...the upgraded rooms had windows but room way smaller with views straight on the AC unit. Once again we raised this with the management & they gave us the option to upgrade at own on cost. What was offered was exactly the rooms we initially booked !! Decided in the end to leave & find another place. PS: still...
