STOKED!!!

I just got back from my annual Agamenticus Surf Club (ASC) trip to El Salvador. This year, it was just the five of us from the ASC and our second year in a row in El Salvador. We stayed at Laola Surf Camp in El Tunco, my first time at a surf camp. While our crew didn’t take lessons, the setup made everything effortless. The camp holds about 20 guests, and the others 15 were mostly solo travelers in their 20s and 30s from all over—Europe, New Zealand, South America, and a few from the U.S. It was like a mini UN with folks from Ireland, England, Russia, Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Suriname, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Chile. The camp’s management and staff were amazing hosts—super accommodating and stoked to make sure everyone had a good time. Days were stacked with three solid meals, unlimited surf, yoga, ice baths, chiro sessions, massages, and optional adventures to waterfalls and volcanoes. Most nights, we rolled into town for group dinners, linking up with locals and some of the surf instructors. The town of El Tunco is a quick five-minute walk down the beach—super chill surf town vibes, great beach bars, awesome restaurants, cafés with solid coffee, and an overall warm, welcoming culture. We kept it mellow, usually crashing before 10:30 PM to be ready for dawn patrol. The camp sits right at El Sunzal, a long, dreamy 1000+ ft right-hand point break that runs you straight onto the sandy beach in front of Laola. Best part? We scored. Three overlapping south swells — 2.5-3.5 ft at 13-18 seconds — lit up the coast, building from 3-4 ft to well over 8 ft throughout the week. Surfed 2-3 sessions every day until my arms basically stopped working. Water was clean and full of turtles, jumping rays, and tons of fish. Early mornings got a bit crowded, but by 9:30 AM, it mellowed out, and with light winds, you could surf all day. The lineup was respectful and friendly, met a ton of rad people from all over the world. Already looking forward to next year’s surf adventure—more waves, good times with the ASC crew, and another epic stay at Laola Surf Camp.

Love this place! Laola was my first surf camp and I've been back three times since. The camp offers the ultimate surf getaway. Located just a short drive from the airport, it’s incredibly easy to get there and start enjoying the waves right at your doorstep. The surf is perfect for all skill levels, and having it so close makes every session that much sweeter. One of my favorite things at Lola are the one-on-one lessons. The instructors are fantastic—patient, knowledgeable, and fully focused on helping you improve, whether you're just starting out or already a seasoned surfer. It’s a great way to get personalized feedback and take your surfing to the next level. While the instructors can sometimes seem a little clique-y, they’re super sweet and always up for a laugh, making the experience even more fun. The staff at Laola is warm, welcoming, and always happy to help. You’ll feel right at home from the moment you arrive and the camp manager and hosts help to make everyone feel part of the group. I've met the most amazing people! The breakfast buffet is another highlight—fresh, flavorful, and made with local ingredients, it's the perfect fuel for a day of surfing or exploring. The rooms and the entire camp are beautifully designed, with stunning ocean views that create a perfect backdrop to chill after a day in the water. The whole vibe of the place is relaxed and comfortable. The pool area is awesome to socialize with other guests but there are also so many different corners for getting a couple hours of work done on your laptop while enjoying the view. Occasionally, the WiFi can get a little spotty (hey, it’s a beach town!), but you really can’t expect much more when you’re in paradise. And there is a great cafe with more reliable wifi right next door and many cool coffee spots in El Tunco! Can't wait to be back!

This location and Surf staff is unbelievable. We had an unconventional family trip here and our six year old was the first kid to visit. Not only did they accommodate us, we all had outstanding surf lessons and memories that will last a lifetime. Rafa took our daughter out like an uncle would care for his niece. Pauli and Kassandra kept an eye on us all, but also built a special bond with our family unit. Alex was the most patient Coach for mom and dad had a remarkable time with the experienced surf crew. We did a lot of exploring in the immediate area and in my opinion, this was the most aesthetically appealing camp in the area. The Infiniti pool is a great addition that I don’t think the other spots have. The only thing that really felt like surf camp was the twin beds. But we honestly expected that and it’s not a complaint, just a point; you may want to bring a pillow or extra towel. I didn’t expect to say this, but I would absolutely return to this exact same spot based on all of the above and more. I went mainly for yoga and ended up enjoying the surfing just as much. Did I mention that the yoga studio is on the top floor with an unparalleled view of the ocean? I would highly recommend a massage in the same area after you beat yourself up a little bit surfing. The lessons, for us, we perfectly geared toward each of our strengths, weaknesses and needs. THANK YOU Miguel, Javi, Oto, and all of the fantastic team members

This wasn’t what I hopped for, and the lesson didnt reach my expectations and the attitude of the instructors. He was rude and didn’t listens or talks to me during my lesson. He didn’t encouraged me or make me felt comfortable or seen in the water. |I told the manager Miguel about this and hoped he would understand. |He has been cold and not helpful at all seen day one.
