The visit Estonia webpage listed this property and I am now sorry I did not check other websites for reviews. Our room was large with a TV and refridgerator, but both worked poorly. Sheets were clean, but beds were old and each one different, as was all the chairs and cabinets The floor in the room was not very clean. The ventilation vents were stuffed closed with paper towels. Our room was on the 2nd floor above the entrance of the hostel, where guests went to smoke and have loud conversations- it was summer, the hostel had no A/C and we had to sleep with the windows closed. The mens toilets had holes punched thru the walls of the tolet stalls, all the toilet paper dispenser covers ripped off and one even had the ventilation duct cover torn off and lying on the floor, but the toilets did flush and there was toilet paper. In the morning I was surprised that someone had smoked in the ill ventilated mens toilet. From the 5 shower stalls, only 3 had the shower heads intact and only one did not have black mildew around it. The womens toliets and showers were better, with no holes in the walls. The kitchen was filthy, and greasy with burned food remains clogging one sink, but the second ine worked, Greasy dishes and pans were strewn about the half broken cupboards and there were no kettles to be found. At least there was dish soap and a fairly new sponge to wash dishes for use. ||The good points we had were that the staff, that night, was helpfull and reserved a free space for our car in front of the hostel and also gave us some free paper cups for use. The room was prepared in about 10 minutes time. Be advised that most of them spoke only russian.||The old town was about a good 15 minute walk, not 5 minutes.||All in all, the price for this type of room and hostel was about 30% too much. There are much better hostels nearby for the same price or less, even private apartments can be found for the price we were charged.||I would also recommend NOT to use the Visit Estonia website for accommodations, because those reviews are...
Read moreDON’T COME HERE. PLEASE READ. First of all, when I made the reservation there was a picture that it was supposed to be of my room, really clean with red sheets. But when I arrived they took me to a room twice as small with four beds almost next to each other, the sheets looked really dirty and the room was a mess. They told me that I would have to share a room with three men there, it looked that they had been living there for a long time because there was food everywhere and the fridge was full of dirt. When I confronted the staff in the front desk and told them that I didn’t pay for that room, I payed for the clean room with the red sheet beds, one of the girls started being so rude and telling me that if I wanted that room I would have to pay 60€ more. They scammed me. After telling them no they ended up letting me sleep in the room of the picture but only if I left the next morning, which is what I did. The staff doesn’t speak english. The place is just taken straight out of a horror movie, everything is in construction and for the reviews it’s been like this for a couple of years now. There were a lot of really strange men always in the entrance, looking and talking me in another language every time I walked by them. I’m a 19 year old girl, this was disturbing and I didn’t feel safe during all my stay. One time when I went to the commune women bathroom one man walked in and the staff who was there didn’t say anything. At night there were really weird sound coming out of my bedroom and it sounded like someone was trying to open my door, I had to put a chair under the handle because I was so scared the whole night. This was an absolute horrifying experience and I wouldn’t recommend it to...
Read moreTelliskivi Apartment The property is in a great spot – Telliskivi is just a quick 10-minute walk away. There was no proper parking on the property. Instead, there was only a small muddy courtyard that could squeeze 2 cars in, making it quite unsafe to park there. The receptionist at the hotel reception did not understand a word of Estonian, spoke only Russian, although Estonian, English, Russian and Spanish are indicated as spoken languages. In order to communicate with each other, to get the keys, the administrator had to ask the help of THREE customers so that they could explain to us what she wanted to say. It took about 20 minutes just to get the keys. The room and the floor were freezing cold, but luckily there was a radiator in the room which provided some warmth, even though it was detached from the wall, which is dangerous. The toilet bowl is detached from the wall and stands on a piece of wood. Unfortunately, the floor remained freezing cold during our entire stay, and the entire bathroom floor was under water while washing. The room was not properly cleaned, we noticed dust on top of the cupboards and there was a random hole...
