My recent stay at Elilly International Hotel in Addis Ababa was far from satisfactory, earning it the lowest possible rating. The experience was riddled with issues that highlighted the hotel's disregard for hygiene, professionalism, and international standards.
The rooms were dimly lit, with broken fittings and carpets that seemed to be mopped rather than vacuumed. Little cockroaches crawling around only added to the unsanitary conditions, exposing a shocking lack of cleanliness.
The hotel's unprofessional stance on guests ordering food and water from outside was equally disappointing. This, coupled with a limited and expensive in-house food menu, left dining options unappealing and constrained. Such policies do not align with international standards, particularly problematic for foreign guests near the United Nations.
Breakfast was of poor quality, and the in-house menu failed to cater adequately to an international audience. The poorly programmed lifts consistently caused delays, bringing down two lifts simultaneously to the same floor.
Elilly International Hotel falls short of its "International" claim. The experience, marked by hygiene issues, unprofessionalism, and a lack of guest satisfaction, raises serious doubts about the hotel's commitment to meeting international standards. Prospective guests should reconsider their stay, as Elilly International Hotel fails to provide a comfortable and internationally acceptable...

There was no shower, just a bathtub, terrible!
The carpets were very dirty, there was no air conditioning, and the minibar was empty!
The minibar didn't work, I asked for a replacement and no one did anything.
The manager and the concierge simply ignored my request to replace the minibar, which was super small and could easily be replaced.
The safe box didn't work, a guy went to fix it, said he would come back and never came back. I had to call again 2 days later.
The TV only got 2 channels.
I found cockroaches in the cafeteria, walking around in the same area as the fruit.
The people selling at the counters are annoying you, trying to sell you things, they look like people who beg on the street.
They should also put up posters advising visitors to beware of pickpockets in the city of ADDIS ABABA. There are pickpockets EVERYWHERE around the hotel BE CAREFUL.
The glass door to the balcony didn't close properly and mosquitoes got in... Bring your repellent.
Considering it's a 5 star hotel, it left a lot to...
