Outstanding Service!

The Hilton Hotel is an iconic landmark in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Its architectural style is contemporary, drawing inspiration from the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela. However, the hotel requires significant infrastructural improvements in the rooms. It is hoped that the government will honor its history and ensure that the structure remains relevant for future generations. Additionally, the hospitality of the staff members is exceptional, which helps to compensate for the hotel's age.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the hotel staff for making my stay unforgettable. Everyone contributed to making it exceptionally pleasant. A special thanks to Solomon for his warm welcome and for offering an upgraded beautiful room. I also appreciate Meseret for her assistance in extending my stay for a few more days. The professionalism and kindness of both Solomon and Meseret were much appreciated.

I returned to Addis for business travel, and this is my preferred hotel whenever I'm in Addis. Whether I'm here for business or leisure, the hotel staff made me feel at home and assisted me with my needs. Mr. Abreham, who works at the front office, kindly offered me a variety of new Ethiopian specialty baked goods at the executive lounge, and I am thankful for all of his assistance. I am very grateful to all the front office staff—Brook, Sahlemariam, Naom, Faven, and others—for their assistance and for consistently checking if I needed anything. Their hospitality, warm smiles, and professionalism were exceptional. They are always ready to help with my needs. I also appreciate Mekdes Alemayehu, who made a point to greet me whenever possible, asking if I was enjoying my stay and if I needed anything.

I would like to commend the entire front door team for their exceptional service regarding my luggage and transportation needs. They greeted me warmly each time I entered or exited the hotel. I would also like to extend my special thanks to the front security team for their professional assistance.

The housekeeping service prepared my room for the evening, which allowed me to feel comfortable and relaxed when I returned after a long day. This essential service greatly contributed to my overall comfort, making my stay more enjoyable. I appreciate Mr. Belay for checking in on me in the lobby to ask if my room was satisfactory and if I needed any assistance. A special thanks goes to the housekeeping staff, Selamawit, and Belaynesh, for ensuring that my room was clean and well-supplied.

I had a wonderful experience at breakfast, particularly because I got to see Meaza again. She demonstrated exceptional hospitality and professionalism, making her an ideal fit for her role. I felt a bit sad when she was moved to a different department, so it was a delightful surprise to see her greeting guests at the door as they arrived for breakfast. I would also like to extend my thanks to Shumet, Hirut, Teferi, and the rest of the team for making my morning breakfast enjoyable. The selection and quality of food have greatly improved compared to the past, and credit is due for that. Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to Tensaiy, Tigist, and the other staff in the executive lounge for their outstanding hospitality, which made my evening enjoyable. Lastly, I would like to acknowledge Mekdes Abebe at the GAZEBO restaurant for her amazing hospitality; I truly appreciate her efforts in making my experience memorable.

The attention to detail and customer service at the Hilton Addis was exceptional. Every staff member demonstrated that this hotel is special, historic, and well-managed. It is a place where guests will never forget their experience, as they feel like family, and the atmosphere is reminiscent of home. The employees of this historic hotel take pride in serving others.

I am incredibly grateful for the unforgettable experience at the Hilton Addis and want to express my appreciation to the...

5 star service not quite 5 star facilities

Hi readers and Hilton team.

As a loyal Hilton honours member I'm only writing this review only based on the amazing staff and team at the Hilton Addis Ababa. Dawit and the rest of the hospitality team really inspired this review due to their impeccable service making sure that I was catered for in every way possible. Based on the staffs service is the only reason why this hotel is getting a good review. This is my honest review of the Hilton Addis Ababa.

The overall building and rooms could really do with some tlc. After stopping in several Hilton sites in the UK, the Conrad in the Abu Dhabi this year I must say that the rooms and amenities are not fully in aligned with the Hilton brand nor can really can it be justified as a 5 star hotel.

I was not able to make my booking through the Hilton honours app as it was not possible due to some sort of technical error (this may have been a red flag or warning sign) so my cousin had to book the room using booking.com this was the cheapest option but the I wouldn't call the room cheap at all, coming in just over a whopping £200 per night. (We stopped 3 night so just over £600gbp) Not only was I unable to gain rewards or use my HH status for its benefits but I feel like the price didn't match up with the room or some of the facilities.

Due to the price point I was really expecting top tier facilities and I must admit it was quite a let down. On arrival the staff were very welcoming, inviting, friendly and polite so I have to give them 10 out of 10 there. The grounds are very secure as it is very close to the UN so top marks on this also.

Check in was good. We checked in after 6pm local time, the ambience was quite dark and moody giving it a relaxed vibe. Bar on the ground floor was busy which made it feel active and exciting. Check in was 8 out of 10, the receptionist was very helpful and polite.

First impressions of the room were okay. We mentioned to the porter that the room seemed a bit dark where he proceeded to turn on all 3 lamps in the room but it was still very dark as there were no ceiling lights. This may seem cute but it's not very practical at all as it made it super hard for us to just function like finding items and belongings. I felt like the dark moody look and feel was a good way to hide some of the cosmetic flaws and defects of the room.

The towels and bath robes have definitely seen better days and should really be relieved of their duty as they have been under some heavy or years of usage. Shower heads could really be replaced. They are not the worst but far from the best. A few hairs were spotted on the bathroom floor but other than that the place was generally clean and to a good standard.

Room had a good sized TV which was nice... The room also had a vert nice view over the grounds/swimming pool and city.

Unfortunately the pool was out of action but was huge so I know it would have been amazing to swim in.

The are some really good pros about this place in terms of facilities... The site has a few ATM machines which came in very handy and made me feel safe than just using them on the street somewhere. There are also a few shops and grooming services available on the ground floor which is also very convenient. The hotel has a good size gym and I think it also has a sauna and spa which I didn't get to use.

The bar is lively and vibrant in the evening but there was a leak above the bar on the first day which wasn't the most appealing things to see. Staff did their best but that couldn't stop us thinking of random droplets on unclean water dropping into drinks.

In conclusion... I probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again it's nice but just not for me. Big thanks to all the hospitality staff who really saved this hotel from getting a lower review score.

I hope his helps visitors and hotel management team on making the...

Greetings to all Hilton Addis families & friend's,

I wish I could match every review here as a traveler just passing by, rather my story and experience with Addis Hilton goes a little over 2 decade's.

Growing up an expat away from home, coming from a traveling family at a young age I have come to cherish & truly appreciate the genuine friendly, hospitality and homely feeling Hilton has embedded in my soul upon every visit over the year's. Be it work, a friendly get together, a simple gathering at my favorite buna spot, &/or one of my "Me day's" by the the pool away from work & the world around me.

Regardless, I have Always, Always! felt the frank authentic welcome home feeling coupled with a heartfelt pure genuine warm embrace from the first step into Hilton beginning from the security check point, to the concierge team, to each and every Management team, the event management teams, to each day of friendly chats and new acquaintances at my utmost favorite Buna spot in Addis, to my morning croissant 🥐 at the lobby bar, to the authentic Kaffa House breakfast buffet, to my favorite course of dishes at the Gazebo, to my most valued and cherished tranquil Me Day's getaways by the pool. Unwillingly, I'll force myself to stop here as my Hilton Addis appreciation goes a bit over a couple of decade's and so does my families where I've heard stories of Hilton Addis experience growing up that goes on even longer than my own.

This being said, although I can not stop speaking/writing about how Hilton is home! I want to acknowledge and appreciate, for not only the outstanding service but for making Hilton home away from home for so many of my family members, colleagues and dear friends .

This review is long over due ..... My Name is Zinet Mahamoud Adnan & I extend my appreciation and utmost respect for each and every hard working individual here. I Thank you all for all the energy, compassion, love, dedication, genuineness and for being those amazing souls this world needs at this point time. Thank you for making us feel at home... Even when we're already home.... There's that magical charm about Hilton Addis .... Magical Charm indeed!!!

Much Gratitude, Love & Respect to the outstanding & amazing work Hilton Addis is doing ....Here goes:

All Management to this day ... Thank You All! Respect 🙏, Ato. Seifedine (Marketing), To all the Chief's & their respective teams at Kaffa House & Gazebo for bringing the world experience to us over the year's... Thank you!🙏 Kerubel Woldu & Tesfaye Asefa,(security), W/z. Almaz Gelan & W/z. Hawi Aseffa (My favorite Buna Spot), Dawit Negussie, Temam Mamo Getahun Fikru, Berhane Kidane, Tadesse Fikru, Tewodros Alemu, Semeneh Teketel (Concierge). Thank you for your extraordinary work gentlemen. You have proven to be Superheroe's indeed, honestly Thank You!🙏 Meaza Mahidre & Kaffa teams (Kaffa House), Eliab Kebede (Gazebo), Belete Moges (Lobby bar) and the list goes on & on ....

Much Love goes out to the flower shop, barber shop, beauty parlor, supermarket, the dazzling coffee shop Kukundu coffee with a mind blowing art gallery and best vegan oatmeal cookies (It's a must have! Highly recommended!), the Ethiopian airlines service at the Hilton. Also, I wouldn't want to end this review without Thanking the CBE team as well. Thank you all for your service!🙏

Thank you Hilton Family & Friends. I always come with a smile and always leave with a bigger one! Thank you! It's Appreciate Deeply.

Sending Early Holiday's and New Years Greetings to You All! 🙏

I hope his helps visitors and hotel management team on making the right decisions.
