My family and I stayed at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Addis in June 2025, and our experience was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and treated with genuine care. The customer service was top-notch. Every staff member went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. The restaurant offered a wonderful variety of options, with delicious meals for every taste and occasion. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we were always impressed by the freshness, flavor, and presentation. I must give special mention to Gugsa, who was absolutely amazing! He made sure that every detail of our stay went smoothly, from planning our visit to ensuring we were comfortable throughout. His professionalism and kindness truly made a difference. Though I’ve forgotten her name, the General Manager was equally wonderful polite, attentive, and incredibly helpful. She took the time to personally check on us and ensure everything was perfect. Overall, the Golden Tulip Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way — clean rooms, excellent food, and a staff that genuinely cares. We left with beautiful memories and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone...
Read moreThe hotel is well built but the services are wanting. I was started off by being put in a room that seemed to be the smoking area of the hotel. Never before had I experienced such pungent cigarette smell. When I complained, I was told to open the doors and windows for 30 minutes; with no regard that it was very cold. Of course that never worked and I requested for a room change. They now LIED to me that I could not get a change as they were full. I knew that was a lie as some of my colleagues with similar reservations were yet to check in, so I insisted. They took me to a twin room with two tiny beds and told me that was all there was. I refused to take that and was told they now have to call the duty manager. I said that was fine as I was not Ok with either of the two rooms and was considering a hotel change. So I waited for the duty manager. No duty manager ever showed up. Instead an alternative room miraculously emerged just next to the twin rooms. Now guess what? This too was full of cigarette smell, but I took it as it was way less than the first one. I didn't like the...
Read moreSure, the rooms are nice, comfy and sort of fancy but : Maybe it's because we arrived with backpacks and hiking shoes, but the clerk really looked down on us with an unprofessional attitude. We were not wearing suits and ties, but we were still paying customers. Fortunately some of the rest of the staff is much nicer, especially the concierge. I got sick for 3 days after having breakfast there : I had been in Ethiopia for 2 weeks, without the slightest issue and the fanciest hotel we stopped in got me. It's hard to be 100% sure it came from here, but given that the first signs started 6h or so after breakfast, that I didn't have lunch inbetween or drink non bottled water, it's the most likely culprit. Some of the extra prices are basically theft, just look at the price of a beer in the minibar or the difference between the suggested taxi price and one you get in the street 50...
