Bottom line: I’m eager to go back to this delightful place. The food, not including the dessert, was a culinary treat. The kitchen has skillz. So why not a 5? Two things: 1) The tenderloin I ordered was tasty, but super chewy. My jaws got a workout. I’m not a beef expert, but I knew that wasn’t ok. 2a) My wife and I ordered 2 desserts at a combined cost of nearly 1,000 ETB. The tiramisu had whipped cream on top that tasted of chemicals. The cake itself wasn’t so good either. The chocolate mousse tasted like it had double the sugar required. And the texture wasn’t good. 2b) The servers and manager were all wonderful, a cut above. That’s why I was disappointed at the manager’s handling of our situation. He wasn’t rude or anything, but he only gave a friendly verbal apology about the desserts. He could see we didn’t even eat half of them and that we had a legit complaint, but he did nothing to rectify it. The items still appeared on our bill (expensive desserts!), and no attempts were made to give us alternative items. Even if he had said, “Sorry, I can’t remove the items from your bill, but I’ll have the kitchen make a fruit salad for you as a sign of apology,” that wouldn’t made a world of difference. We went there on a Thursday night and we were quite upon a recommendation from some one. The place was full and in my head I thought this is a mistake. Within seconds a waitress found a place and sat us down. The table was clean beautiful but simply set. The body language of the waitress and even the manager was quite welcoming. We asked what they recommended and when the starter came it was heavenly. Especially the salad! Then the main to the eye it looked like it would not fill our four tummys but the food was devine and we were more than satisfied. This is the best restaurant by far that I have experienced in Addis from service to food to ambiance. We met the owner Chef Hannock very humble person and one willing to listen and has great plans for the place. So if you want a place for a good meal that you won't regret spending your money then definitely the Golden plate is the place to be. Will definitely visit again. My palate can't wait for another experience for it is truly not only an experience of great service but also and adventure for the palate. Well done chef...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Golden Plate in Bole, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This fine dining restaurant truly lives up to its name, offering both elegance and warmth in every aspect.

I ordered the steak, and it was cooked to perfection—flavorful, tender, and beautifully presented. The quality of the food alone makes this place worth a visit.

What truly elevated the evening, however, was the outstanding service. Our waiter, Barnabas Kassa, was incredibly professional, attentive, and welcoming. He made sure everything was perfect throughout the night, and I’d give him a 10 out of 10 without hesitation.
