I recently dined at The Exclusive Restaurant in Bole, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few areas for improvement.

Food (5/5): The highlight of the evening was definitely the food. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the portion sizes were just right. It’s clear that the chefs take great pride in their work, and it really shines through in the dishes.

Service (4/5): The service was good but left a bit of room for improvement. The staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring that we were well taken care of throughout the meal. However, there were a few moments where the service was a bit slow, especially when we needed something extra. A little more promptness would have made the experience even better.

Atmosphere (3/5): The atmosphere was a mixed bag. While the ambiance was generally pleasant, it didn’t quite live up to the standard set by the food and service. The lighting was a bit too dim for my taste, making it slightly difficult to fully appreciate the beautifully presented dishes. Additionally, the overall vibe felt more subdued than expected, which took away from the overall experience.

Overall, The Exclusive Restaurant offers an enjoyable dining experience, especially if you’re there for the food. With some minor tweaks to the service and atmosphere, it could easily become a top...

As the name describes, walking into this restaurant you are met with exclusivity and luxury. A grand metal art design embolds the ceiling and walls giving it a surreal look and the entire restaurant feels very luxurious. The staff are very friendly and seem to be knowledgeable about the dishes they have to offer. The menu items reflect the luxury portrayed by restaurant, as do the prices. Unfortunately, the taste, not so much. I ordered the filet mignot that came on a hot stone. It was sizzling when it came to my table and nearly burnt me. The meat was extremely tough and I was barely able to cut it with the steak knife they provided. The hot stone was a so thick and so hot that it kept cooking the meat thoroughly while I was eating. I had to return my dish and the host was gracious enough to make me a new plate. Unfortunately, this was not much better than the first. I ate as much as I could and paid and left. For such a luxury restaurant, they should have done better to make sure the dish was up to...

I GOT E.COLI BACKTERIA FROM THE MEAT HERE. I knew it looked like bad hygienic practices. How do I know? This was the only time I ate meat during my short trip to Addis. The meat was very undercooked. The resturant is trying to question the methodology of a Norwegian laboratory that tested me upon returning home. Very funny. Very much a gimmick resturant. They bring out a bunch of raw meat and a hot stone to cook it in front of you. But the server doing the frying clearly doesn't know how to fry meat. She kept moving it, didn't let a crust build up, and worst of all they don't let the meat rest before serving it. Just basics that are not done. Also, with all the frying there is smoke and oil squirting all over the place, including your clothes. It's just a big gimmicky set up. Also I asked if the meat was served with sides where they said yes, veggies and potatoes. What you get is a TINY cup with a 3cm×3cm potato square and a few flakes of cauliflower. Really overpriced. Don't go.
