During my recent stay at The Palms Denarau, I encountered a series of disappointments that significantly affected my experience. Firstly, housekeeping took used towels but failed to replace them, necessitating a trip to reception to rectify the issue.
Both TVs in the apartment were non-functional, lacking clear channel reception and a remote in the main bedroom. The WiFi service was notably unreliable and slow, with vague responses from the staff about restoration times.
The cleanliness of the linens was concerning, particularly in the main bedroom where I found stains that resembled blood. The safe deposit box presented a security issue as it wasn't securely bolted.
The bathroom's condition was substandard, with noticeable mould around the shower area. The kitchen's state was equally disappointing - rundown, missing basic items like a sink plug, and with malfunctioning appliances. The provided utensils were insufficient and unclean.
Additionally, the apartment's design, with tiled floors throughout, became uncomfortable over time. I also noticed ants in the main bathroom.
Another point of frustration was the noise from the main road and car park, which could be disturbing for guests in most rooms.
The on-site "Cafe O" offered mediocre service and beverages. Their version of a cold coconut drink was unsatisfactory, being served lukewarm.
Lastly, a significant inconvenience was the transportation arrangement. Due to a perplexing rule, taxis were not allowed to transport guests to the airport, forcing me to pay $108FJ for an alternative van service arranged by the hotel.
Overall, my experience at The Palms Denarau was far from satisfactory, marred by a series of issues ranging from poor maintenance and cleanliness to inconvenient policies...
Read moreWe stayed at this property for one night prior to our Mamanuca island's trip the following morning. We arrived around 8.30PM. There was not many staff around so the service was somewhat slow. Do not expect the staff would help you carry your luggage.||We were greeted by the lovely, smiley and friendly receptionist. Check in was smooth and quick. She then asked one of the staff to help guiding the way to our room and also sending our luggage. ||The room itself was just OK, a little dated, with all the necessary amenities you might need. The position of the Aircon was on top of the bed which was a little weird and we had to adjust the direction of it as it blew to our head when we were sleeping. Our room was also like being connected to a larger room that had living room and kitchen. Our neighbour was noisy and we could hear his TV on and him showering. For the price you paid compared to other properties in Denarau area, I thought you got what you paid for. ||Check out was smooth and quick. We headed to Nadi town before our Mamanuca cruise later that afternoon. The hotel did not have dedicated storage area where they could keep our luggage but they were kind enough to let us store the luggage in front of the reception desk. They did not produce you any dockets for proof nor they mark the luggage to whom the luggage belong to. Overall,...
Read morePlease Do not be fooled by the Photos on any travel agent sites, It is very dirty and overrated!!! I could not look at the carpet/mats as it is extremely dirty, Many little bugs around aisle and door way, Robes are really old and material is really discomfort( feels like not clean enough). Worst of all, one room smells like URINE. We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff only came to clean the room for two days. The location is bit tricky, It’s close to the port filled with restaurant and shops, but very far from beach(the hotel put beach pics on their ads to mislead you). The staff who is selling the tours said that we cannot go to any beach on Denarau island because we staying in the Palms, And in Denarau all the beach are private and belong to other hotels. It was a big shock and stressful for us, We paid 3 nights here (almost 410 dollar per night) and We expected to enjoy some time at beach other than hotel room. So I double confirmed with the receptionist and were told we could go to Hilton’s beach. .......... I can't help to think the tour sales lady try to make a sale by lie to us. WIFI is poor and low speed. No teeth brush and flip flop in the room (Dont know if its normal in FIJI). Anyway, my point is this hotel doesn't worth the price we paid for, we should pay extra to live in Hilton, or don't stay hotels in...
