Good, but not great We went there for a late breakfast and stayed at a table. No waiter came around, so we took the menus from the hostess stand. We waited, no waiter again, so we ordered 3 breakfasts at the bar. They mixed up our orders, my american breakfasts came with cold scrambled eggs, without mushrooms and grilled pineapple, and my daughter's breakfast came without the cassava chips and the extra hash brown we ordered. After that, they came with the 4th breakfast that was actually what i've ordered. They changed with the order i had in front of me. I started eating the fried pineapple when i noticed that the hash brown had a bite. I called the waiter that was at the next table and she looked at me, turned her back and left. Went with the breakfast at the bar, and the waitress approached me to ask what was wrong. I said that my hash brown had a bite into it and she ask me what i want. I said that i want a has brown without a bite. She ask me if i eat that bite, that i though is was rude. What i would gain? A bite of has brown? She changed the hash brown but meantime my breakfast was all cold. My daughter order dessert that looked nice but it came without cutlery. Her banana crepe came with "vanilla ice cream" that it wasn't actually vanilla ice cream, was just frozen whipped cream. It was raining and a bit windy and the plastic cup from ice coffee, kept beiing taken by wind on the floor. We asked the waitress to take the cup from the table. She took the plated and she left the cup on the table. We thought she would come back for the cup but it never happened. We collected the cup several times from the floor and at the end we let it go. We weren't there to clean the place. Instead of an enjoyable breakfast, we paid nearly 150 fijian dollars for a mediocre...
Read more(2.5 stars) For a fast breakfast before the Yasawa Flyer departs Port Denerau, The Bilo seemed to fit the bill. A cafe, bar and bistro operating from 7am until ten o’clock at night, The Bilo sets out the whole day’s menu across a single page. The breakfast burger (FJ$23.95) felt pricy, but it does come with chips. Its standard burger bun contained the usual suspects—bacon, egg, cheese and barbeque sauce—with a hashbrown thrown in for good measure.
The Fijian breakfast (FJ$23.95) is listed as containing either chicken or fish. Underneath this, the menu states you can also add extra protein in either form (FJ$8). We were billed for this without making any request, and when I questioned it, I was told only fish comes at menu price, having chicken means you must pay extra. This felt deceptive, and made it a pricy bowl of chicken and vegetables cooked in coconut sauce with some cassava chips on the side.
An iced latte (FJ$12.95) is a nod to the heat without the sweetness of ice cream. You can throw in kava for its muscle relaxing properties ahead of your bumpy boat ride with a kava iced coffee (FJ$13.95) but be warned: it was quite pale and milky numbing your lips without much...
Read moreI initially wrote a comment focused on their Aioli knowledge and prices as they charge $4 extra for it and I got an essay response a week later lol which I didn’t read. So I deleted it coz way to much negative energy! Here goes a second time to see if they can be respectful and accept criticism.
Service - could be better overall, the waitress’s that served us were lovely though. Chips - good but no salt. Prices - for a cafe compared to the restaurants in the vicinity, the price was good accept for the aioli (shocking). The smoothie was fresh and worth $10FJD
I thought the above is quite generous ^^ lol
I think something was mentioned about olive oil not made in Fiji - correct, I should have been more specific and said that this ONE ingredient out of the 3 is not made in Fiji but still very accessible. Since you’re buying in bulk, 1 cup from the bulk stock to make a jar of sauce doesn’t really justify $4 still. 🤷🏽♀️
Anyway, I hope management is mature enough to accept my review this time. Please don’t respond a week later with an essay again because Google doesn’t allow me to reply and I’ll just delete it again.
Frankly, my review shouldn’t effect you...
