We did the South Sea Island full day and I have to say is a beautiful place with a lot of things to do. The Fijian entertainment was great! Unfortunately we didnāt have the time to explore all the activities because our Dive (Scuba Diving) got pushed back multiple times so we missed a few activities do to time and waiting. We pre booked/payed and our appointment for Dive was scheduled for 14:00 We got there at 11:10 and they told us we have to listen to welcome/instructions, by the time they end was 11:20 and buffet was a 11:30 so we decided to eat first, watch the entertainment, do the paper work for snorkeling/Dive and then do activities. The issue is between 12:00 to 13:45 thereās no guided snorkeling, clear boat or submarine so we did kayak and snorkeling by ourselves. The plan was to do the other activities after our Dive but that didnāt happen because from 14:00 appointment they switched to 14:15 , 14:30 and last 15:00 but they let us waiting again until 15:15 and we told them (every time they pushed our time) our boat leaves at 16:00 so we got rushed in our Dive tour. We missed the other activities just because we had to wait and we didnāt want to missed our already paid Dive (everything would have been easier if they just told us come back at 15:00 instead of changing our time multiple times).
The buffet is okay, if you are vegetarian thereās no protein for you. Get ready to eat salad, rice and fruit.
I canāt say about all the activities (we missed them) but they need more kayak and paddles. The self snorkeling was good.
Cultural entertainment after buffet was amazing.
I will not recommend the Dive, not only because they wasted our time and missed activities but also because the snorkeling had better views. We have experience doing Dive/ScubaDiving in every island or tropical country we visited and by far this one was disappointing (maybe was because we were waiting so long and expected more). The photos⦠not as expected. They only took two photos, one before getting ready with a sign & one at the beginning of the Dive with an underwater sign. We were expecting more during the tour. We also havenāt received the photos because we were rushed to get out of the water because our boat was leaving.
Overall maybe not getting the Dive and do just the activities included wouldāve made the experience so much better. Also I will recommend to not book the taxi to your hotel with them because the place closes at 17:00 so you can have one more hour in the island and take the latest boat, booking the taxi with them you have to leave at 16:00 for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBula! I did South Sea Cruises - Finding Nemo Family Cruise and would rate 3-3.5 stars. I also did South Sea Cruises - Malamala Beach Club - Full Day Pass and I would rate 5 stars.
Regarding South Sea Cruises - Finding Nemo Family Cruise- Itās suitable for couple with young kids, babies. Transfers are available from selected hotels and resorts in Nandi and Port Denarau. Do not rely on the pdf you get in email upon booking. Please call and confirm whether transfer is available from your hotel or not, as they have recently made some changes to pickup location but pdf is not updated. Cruise departs at 9 am from Port Denarau (expect a long queue and please arrive, at least 30-45 mins before cruise depart time) Cruises very much leaves on time so donāt arrive late or just before the boarding time. In under 30 minutes, we were at South Sea Island. Big cruises cannot go till the island, so there will be small boats and you will transfer from Cruise to small boats (20 people or so max) and in 2 mins you will be on South Sea Island. 3-4 Local Fijian people would be welcoming all guests with Meke Performance (a traditional performance). There will be briefing of 1/2 an hour. Unlimited Water, soft drinks, Fiji Gold is included at the island, it is a part of package. For beer, one person will be given only one beer. So your mate canāt say, I want 5 beers. Everyone has to go to the bar and in each round, you get only 1 beer. All the non motor equipments are free to use including kayak, paddle boarding, snorkelling gear etc. You can also do Semi Submersible vessel to view the beautiful coral and colourful fish. (If you been to Great Barrier Reef (Australia), you would be disappointed here otherwise you will feel āwowā) scuba diving available at additional cost. At around, 11:30 or so, your time is up. They would be calling you as your boat would be ready to take you to bigger cruise and from there in 30 mins, you will be at Port Denarau. So all in all, you wonāt have luxury of time. If you have baby or young kids, or want to quickly get the feel of island then this cruise is good else please spend more and choose for half day or full day South Sea island cruise.
For transfer, you can catch a metered cab.
Locals tip- Always go by metered cab. LH (name plate starts with LH XXX) cabs charges are higher. So, catch a normal cab. Ask local to call on 2000 or 6000 to arrange for a metered cab. Meter starts from 1.5 FJD and after 10 pm, it will start from 2 FJD.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with South Sea Cruises that left me feeling frustrated and deceived. The primary reason for my dissatisfaction stems from the misleading information provided by one of their agents regarding the company's refund policy. Had the agent been transparent and honest during our phone conversation, my group would have made alternative arrangements to use the cruise tickets.
When I initially called South Sea Cruises to inquire about their refund policy, I specifically asked about the possibility of obtaining a refund if we were unable to use the cruise tickets due to unforeseen circumstances. The agent I spoke with assured me that if I email and that we would be eligible for a refund if we were unable to use the tickets.
Unfortunately, circumstances arose that prevented us from being able to embark on the cruise as planned. When I reached out to South Sea Cruises to request a refund, I was met with an entirely different response from what I had been told by the agent. The customer service representative I spoke to informed me that the tickets were non-refundable, and there was no possibility of a refund. I was shocked and frustrated to learn that the information provided by the agent during our initial conversation was completely false.
This misleading information has caused my group significant inconvenience and financial loss. Had we been aware of the non-refundable nature of the tickets, we would have explored other options or made alternative plans. It is utterly disappointing that South Sea Cruises' agent chose to provide inaccurate information rather than being transparent about the company's refund policy.
Furthermore, the lack of consistency in the information provided by South Sea Cruises reflects poorly on the overall professionalism and customer service of the company. It is essential for businesses in the tourism industry to be truthful and transparent with their customers, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date information is shared.
Given this unpleasant experience and the misleading information we received, I cannot recommend South Sea Cruises to others. It is disheartening to encounter such dishonesty from a company that should prioritize customer satisfaction. I hope that South Sea Cruises takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving their communication and providing accurate information to their customers...
