Hotelli Seurahovi — Hotel in Porvoo sub-region

This is, without doubt, the second worst hotel I have every stayed at. Outside and inside, the hotel looked like an abandoned building waiting to be demolished. The hotel room was OK size-wise, but neither the room nor the bathroom seems to have been cleaned properly for the last 10 years. The hallways were even worse, with lots of dust and dirt. Breakfast was a joke, with almost nothing to choose from and the only types of bread they offered were wrapped in plastic and looked like the cheapest type you could get at the cheapest discount store possible. Service was non-existent, the only person we saw during our entire stay was a man taking out the dishes from the breakfast room. As with everything else, clearing off the table was self-service based. Checking in was even worse. We parked outside, carried all our stuff to the front door, just to find it closed, with a poster telling us to use the back door on the other side of the building. That door was closed as well. Calling the hotel, l talked to a lady that informed me that she had sent a code to the doors to the wrong number. She re-sent it, and I got it. But, it was only valid after 4PM, and since the hotel neither had a reception nor a baggage room, we had to carry all the bags around the hotel again and back to the car. After staying here for the last 3years whilst we visit a local supplier I have decided that enough is enough!!! The reception is no more. The confirmation for the rooms was sent to our travel agent and ended up in their spam so we had no way to get into the hotel without this. After waiting in the cold out side for 30 minutes we were then let in by another guest who had the same issue as us but the day before. The explained to call the receptionist on a number. This took another 30 minute to connect. As you can imagine we were pretty annoyed at this point. After explaining our situation the chap on the other end of the phone was not apologetic but asked us to write down 3x 6digit numbers for our rooms. He said he would resend the confirmation to my Mobile number. That took some 2 hrs to come later. The hotel itself has seen better days, very basic rooms with a even less impressive breakfast. Rubber cheese and dried out ham.

Will I return or recommend- NO

Shame, as the location is good. I am sorry to put this about someone’s business, but I would love to see if they could do...

Outdated. No Service at all, no towel changes in a week, no linen changed or bed made. Breakfast was terrible, no choice, the same every day and lowest possible quality. No-one of the stuff was around, on none of the days.

Not even a bottle of water or drinks at all been available, not even a venting machine. Not the slides of service.

Check in didn't work. We had to call 3 times to get our room codes.

Needs a renovation. Not dirty but you can smell the 90s and a youth hostel anywhere else in the world offers a better service. I would say it is a contractor hotel, but actually I think if you work hard during the day, you deserve better than this hotel.

It is on our avoid list now and I would not recommend this...
