This hotel is located bang in the middle of Porvoo old town in an idyllic old building. It has 10 rooms - we stayed in Room 2 on the ground floor. The room itself was cozy, with a separate entrance room / lounge with two armchairs and a table, a wardrobe and a small fridge. The bathroom was on the compact side but had a good sized shower. A big plus for the normal sized Molton Brown toiletries. The bedroom had a wall mounted tv, a king sized bed and bedside tables. The decor was in keeping with the character of the building, and old fashioned charm. The windows from the bedroom look right in to the busy pedestrian street with the shops directly opposite, but does have good net curtains so can't imagine you can see too much from the street. When we checked in, the sun was blaring directly in to the bedroom so we closed the curtains to block the sun. The air conditioning was adequate enough to keep the bedroom cool despite the boiling weather outside. ||||The reception area is stylish and the entrance to the rooms in direct from the reception. Half the rooms are upstairs with direct entrance from the breakfast room. The inner courtyard is very pretty and also houses the terrace of the hotel restaurant Meat District next door. There are a few parking spaces in the courtyard as well. ||||We didn't spend too much time at the hotel as we went for a river cruise and dinner by the river as well. We slept ok until the building work next door started the following morning - can't be helped and isn't the hotel's fault but it did take away from the experience. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. The room itself was cozy with 5 tables and you get to choose 9 am or 10.15 am setting. The spread wasn't as good as I would have expected and although there were only a few people eating breakfast at the time, the bowls were empty all the time. I don't drink coffee or tea so it didn't bother me, but the server never offered coffee or tea which was meant to be served at the table. ||||For the location, Pariisin Ville is probably the best in Porvoo. And otherwise as well I guess - all in all there was nothing actually wrong but something was lacking for me. I would stay again, so guess that is...

Read moreHotel Pariisin Ville is a 10 rooms hotel in the middle of small old town of Porvoo. It has some parking spots to be prebooked for guest convenience. The rooms are located in two floors. Having stayed here for twice, I strongly recommend 2nd floor rooms (above street level). This time I had booked a suite: it features a lounge with cozy balcony, toilet, bathrom & sauna and bedroom. If you are travelling for business, the workspace is not necessarily the best possible. If you are looking cozy stay with homey feeling and tasteful decoration, you are likely to enjoy your stay here. The breakfast is located next the second floor rooms. The selection of food is not necessarily the largest, but very well thought and all the items in the buffet are at highest quality. Service was smooth and friendly. It is hard to run a hotel of 10 rooms at low costs, and hence the cost of one night (300 euros) is fairly high. However, highly...
