A new Nepalese restaurant at Hotel Seurahovi, in Porvoo. A warm and friendly service, we felt very welcome. The place is rather spacious and nicely decorated with local Nepalese ornaments and paintings. Tables with linen give a festive impression. During daytime there's a lot of room in tables. Lunch buffet is from 10.30 to 15.00. The service line has been moved nearer to kitchen. The salad table with side dishes and pastes is a bit scarce now. Cucumber raita is fresh. More fresh veggies should be added during the lunch time. Almost empty bowls are not tempting. We also miss fermented vegetables and pickles. Medium hot spices and other spices typical to Nepalese kitchen are still hoped for, the food is rather mild. Where's ginger, garlic, fenugreek seeds, turmeric, cumin, peppers? Chicken Vindaloo has spicy kick. Although there was hot chili sauce available, the food should have had more flavor. The meat served was tender. Pakora was delicious and pappadum was crispy in the right way. The dessert included various coffees from a coffee machine, tea, three different flavors of ice cream and some pastry. Also mango lassi was available near other beverages. Spicy Nepali tea had disappeared - why? The ice cream was plain but tasty. Good that there's now an ice cream scoop for each different flavor. The restaurant still needs some improvements to succeed, especially because it operates in connection of a hotel.

I injured my leg and am currently using a wheelchair. I wanted to try this restaurant, and when the staff saw me, they came down from upstairs and assisted me all the way into the restaurant — it was really thoughtful. The food was genuinely delicious; there wasn’t a single hot dish that I didn’t enjoy. Everything tasted great. The place was also very clean and hygienic overall.
