Very poor experience. Front desk guys are gentle in general expect one lady that gave me a very rude and aggressive answer to my complaint. The hotel run out of towels! This is unacceptable. The house keeping put 2 towels and we were 4 in the family room. We all had to shower after a day at the beach but only had 2 towels. I called to ask for 2 more, the lady at the reception told me that they have none. I showed my frustration and she said, i quote, “je ne vais pas vous les sortir de mon chapeau”, meaning i can’t do a magic trick to bring it out to you. I’ve been to a lot of hotels in my life, a lot of them were from Accor and nobody showed me this level of disrespect. The housekeeping in the room was really bad, we had dust everywhere (closets, under the sinks, the carpets…). Back off of you have allergies, i had to take pills everyday to survive. The elevator is a topic in itself. There’s only one, it can fit 4 people only and there are 7 floors in the building. The waiting time is insane. If you have a flight to catch, you have to bring down your luggage before rush hour otherwise you’re screwed. Our kids many times used the stairs from the 5th floor, kids are often impatient. We asked if the hotel provides towels for the beach, they said yes but we only give them to you once. We don’t clean them. Imagine you back from the beach with 4 wet towels, often having some dirt on them and not even being able to dry them (no terrace, no balcony). We tried to dry them at the beach the day after but the towels didn't smell well, so we gave them back to the reception. Breakfast was ok and the waitresses were very kind. There are very few table indoor. The tables outdoor are not very hygienic. Pigeons are everywhere! The 1st day, i wanted to sit outside and started putting food on the table, pigeons attack the plates! So i had to run inside and serve new plates. Pigeons carry a lot of viruses, the least the hotel can do is to put a net or else to protect the terrasse. Family room size is descent, but bathroom was too small. Plus the closets were too tiny. We had to keep clothes in the luggage but it was very inconvenient to keep 4 luggages open on the floor all the time. We had to close at least 2 multiple times per day. The parking adjacent to the hotel is a plus if you have a car to park. It’s not connected to the hotel so you have to step out of the hotel. The elevator was out of service for 3 days. I had to climb 3 to 5 floors to get to the ground floor every time. I can carry on and on. I think that the hotel is too old and needs an urgent renovation. I think that the 4 stars is overrated, 3 stars can be acceptable. I’m gold member of accor so i know all accor ranges and travelled in many countries in accor hotels, i think this novotel is a shame for accor and should be listed out until it’s renovated because it’s hurting...
Read moreOn arrival, carpark was difficult to get into Disgusting carkpark and filthy lift Upon check-in and I already completed online check-in, older French receptionist was disinterested in our feedback of the carpark issue we had. 2nd carpark issue thankfully one of the staff came to the carpark and let us out after check out and gave us more information about the pathetic timing of the gate closing. Hard to get out to the gate with bigger cars and have the gate close on you so soon. Carpet outside level 7 lift is absolutely disgusting and the whole carpet filthy and found a table by the lift continually full of plates and pizza boxes. Upgraded as a Gold member to a executive room however, place between 2 rooms with noisy children. Not sure how that's an upgrade. The carpet in 718 Room was incredibly filthy upon entering the room I was having allergy attacks and ended up with a incredibly sore throat and runny nose during my stay and returned home sick in bed and worse from dust mites in the carpet. Carpet definitely not vacuummed as a new guest and never has been steam cleaned. Dropped my towel on the bathroom floor in the afternoon or early evening and my fiance asked a man in reception on our last night 14th August for a bath towel he said he could only give a bathmat and gave 2 bath mats. Who on earth would wipe themselves let alone a woman with a bathmat.
I was not impressed and went downstairs to reception and spoke to the girl at the conciege desk which was the first time I'd ever seen someone sitting there. She said that they don't have the key and the lady is gone who has the key to access towels that's why I got a bathmat. That is crazy, someone has to have access to storerooms, staff can't take hotel keys home to storerooms. So unprofessional.
I'm a traveller for 3 decades and travel several times a year and this is the worst treatment, service and behaviour I have ever come across. An inspection is definitely required at all Accor hotels within France and Greet hotel in Marseille needs reviewing too.
Bed not made properly and sheets too short for the mattress with mattess exposed with no valance. Bed bugs would be an issue here!
I returned home itchy and now having to fully wash and clean everything in my case and the interior of my case and hand luggage due to dust mites from this room.
I want to use my membership more often but just keep getting disappointed from start to finish.
Please review Novotel Cannes as it's an absolute disgrace to be under the Accor banner.
Terrible way to end my 4.5bweeks holiday in France after such a fabulous trip.
Don't expect to be fooled my next France...
Read moreMy wife and I arrived at the hotel at about 10am. Much too early to check in. We were hot, very hot and the staff recognized this immediately and offered us water, very friendly staff. Thomas, the gentleman behind the computer, offered to sign us up to the All Accor app, which would give us free early check in and other benefits when using Accor Hotels. I thought that was a great thing to do. Thomas got us all checked in, and we headed to our room. Now this is our fourth hotel in Europe on this trip and we have seen it all (probably not, but it feels like it) no AC, rock hard beds, noisy rooms all night long and ultra small accommodations. When we walked into the Novotel room, it was so cool, so spacious, there was a table with chairs to sit at, a small kitchenette area with microwave and sink, a spacious bathroom with a separate toilet room all together. And the bed, it was soft and comfy with two lovely pillows on each side. I thought I had gone to European hotel heaven. We have been so comfortable during our stay and have had the best sleep of any of the hotels. While the room is super comfortable, the decor is somewhat dated, honestly, the comfort of the room far outweighs the aesthetic of the decor. The hotel is situated slightly up hill from the train station and about a 15 minute walk dragging your luggage, but that means it’s all down hill to the beach, also about 14-15 minutes away, or back to the train station! Shopping is all close by with some grocery and fast food places right next door. The included breakfast was ample, fresh and quite delicious with a wide variety to choose from, but a little repetitive each day. (I didn’t mind, I enjoyed it). Still and sparkling water is offered in the lobby, while chilled still water is available on every floor. All in all, this has been the most pleasant, comfortable and hospitable hotel in our 9...
