We arrived early and unfortunately could not check in, which was understandable. However, there was no lounge or bar area to wait, so we were forced to leave the hotel to find an alternative place. ||Once we could check in we went to our room which was the one bed suite with city view. The suite was ok, but didn't seem to live up to the pictures. The bedroom had been decked out in balloons and a birthday banner for my partner. But having paid over €450 for one night, I felt a bottle or chocs could easily been laid on.||When we decided to have a hot drink in the room, we found that there were only small paper cups for espresso, no teas and no milk. As such, I went down to reception to ask for some tea and milk an was shocked and surprised to be informed that the hotel does not supply either, but I could purchase them if I wanted. I felt this was so petty and not what one would expect from a 4 star hotel. As such, I had to go out and search for a store to buy some milk. The aircon, despite putting all the settings on low, would not operate, and when informing the front desk next day, was advised that perhaps I should have left the settings higher!. On checking out next morning, a call was made to the front desk advising that the bunting was missing. We had presumed that it was ok. But know, the £2 bunting was not to be taken as the hotel reuses it||On the positive, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bath and shower were adequate. Overall I did not feel it was worth the €450 for one night and the boutique feel of the property was lack lustre, tainted by the penny...
Read moreOn the one hand, the location is great in terms of proximity to the sea — we could even see it from our windows, which was lovely. However, to get there, you have to cross a large, somewhat uninviting road, which makes it feel farther from the heart of the action than it actually is. In reality, you’re just about 6–8 minutes away from everything. So it’s convenient, but the surrounding area doesn’t feel particularly cozy or charming. Nearby, you’ll find a train station and a police station, which adds to that “functional” vibe.
Our room — a higher-tier one — was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The white linens and towels were fresh, and the provided toiletries were of good quality. A special highlight was the birthday surprise organized at my mom’s request: the hotel really went above and beyond with swan-shaped towels, rose petals, chocolates, and thoughtful little gifts. It was a truly heartwarming gesture that we appreciated.
The breakfast area, though, is quite small. When more guests show up, it quickly gets cramped and hard to move around. That said, the food selection is solid — delicious pancakes, smoked salmon, cold meats, and good variety overall.
The general interior could perhaps be made cozier and a bit warmer in atmosphere.
Staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and welcoming — both before our arrival and during our stay. Overall, a great value for the money, with a few small things that could make the experience...
Read moreWe would like to sincerely thank the hotel for our stay — however, we absolutely do not recommend this hotel under any circumstances.
Here are the reasons: First and foremost, we experienced an acute medical emergency during our stay and received no assistance or attention whatsoever from the hotel staff. This lack of basic care and humanity is unacceptable.
Additionally, we had booked breakfast in advance, yet no breakfast was available when we arrived. We were left without food in the morning, despite having paid for this service.
Communication was nearly impossible, as the staff spoke only French and were unwilling or unable to help in English or any other language. This made it extremely difficult to explain our medical condition and get the support we needed.
We are bikepackers, and our high-value bikes carry all our belongings. The staff insisted we store them in a public parking area, which we found completely inappropriate and unsafe, especially given the value and vulnerability of such gear. They showed no understanding or consideration for this.
The rooms were also not as advertised online. In fact, there were offensive slogans on the walls, which were not only inappropriate but clearly anti-male and discriminatory. We are not talking about edgy decoration here — we are talking about shaming and insulting messaging that has no place in any hotel room, especially not one that claims to be welcoming.
In conclusion: we do not recommend this hotel and hope others will think twice before booking.
