My wife and I are typically pretty easy going travelers (we never really ask for a lot from the hotel, keep to ourselves, etc.). However we were in La Rochelle for a wedding happening in Ile De Re, and didn’t know that getting there was going to be a lot more difficult than we planned. The front desk helped us reserve private cars to get to ile de re (taxis weren’t easily available) and also helped us find and figure out the bus station and schedules. We’re super lucky to have stayed at a hotel who were willing to go above and beyond for us, otherwise who knows if we would’ve even made it to the wedding or the other events happening on the island!
Every single person working at Maisons du Monde were delightful to interact with from the cleaners to the front desk to the workers at the breakfast bar (which was fantastic by the way). You should definitely stay here if you’re thinking about it. Amazing hospitality, clean rooms, and great location!...
Read moreWe had an excellent stay! The hotel is beautiful and very cozy, with comfortable rooms, lots of amenities, and above all a perfect location in the heart of the city. Since it’s right in the center, getting there by car and unloading luggage can be a little complicated, but honestly it’s a small detail compared to everything else the hotel offers.
What really stood out to us was the staff. Everyone was kind, but especially Léa at reception. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. During our stay we unfortunately had some problems with our car, which affected part of our trip, but Léa made sure we were okay at all times. She offered us solutions, support, and did it all with a smile. Her supervisor was also very helpful and welcoming.
Thanks to them, what could have been a stressful situation turned into a positive memory. We really appreciated their warmth and professionalism.
Without a doubt,...
Read moreWe had a wonderful short break in the hotel. The staff are 10/10 and the location is perfect. The reason I have given a score of 3/5 is because there was no provision made at all for what was a widely predicted heatwave for the weekend. Our room was like a furnace with no means to cool it because the hotel was in "winter mode". Opening the windows made little to no difference, the room is south facing with an enormous sliding window to a roof terrace which acted like a solar oven. The staff kindly provided us with a fan at one point but it was largely ineffective. We were travelling with our 2 dogs who were in obvious distress at times, the humans can at least shower...
