La Closerie Deauville — Hotel in Lisieux

It was Wonderful! .. For the first 4 nights anyway. It was the swimming which was the main attraction, the days at the beach within easy walking distance, exploring the region, and the evenings in the sauna and pool. At 2m depth it was ideal to teach survival skills, we met some other families and just enjoyed the evenings in the water. All was respectful, calm, everyone happy, until friday arrived and a 35-ish woman wearing sunglasses in the water also arrived. One look at us, she gets out while pointing and shouting something unintelligible at us, makes a b line to the front desk (not even taking a towel), whereby the woman at the front desk was obliged to remind us (reluctantly) that kids are not allowed past 18:00. As it was not yet 18:00, we enjoyed the rest of the time, while being watched by the sunglasses lady. Others chose to just leave. Saturday arrived, we had again a great time, and again (we'll call her "K") also arrived. Again, K goes to the front desk, never said a word to us, and makes the hostess ask us to leave the pool. So we leave, at 18:00. Maybe I don't get out much, but this was my first encounter with this kind of person, K, outside of you tube at least. That scowl was something else, and we weren't the only recipients of it. The staff handled it well friday night, but saturday could have been much better, maybe the hostess was having an off day. Overall, I was very happy with everything, we all had a great time. We had an apartment which is well equipped and the kitchen means we did not have to eat out all the time. The location is perfect for the racecourse and having private parking is a great help. The pool area would benefit from having lockers as we twice had our bathrobes taken by mistake as they are all identical. ||Our only issue was there not being a kettle in the room, which was confirmed by two people on reception, and by a member of housekeeping. The staff directed my wife to Carrefour to buy a kettle, which my wife understood would be refunded. The cost was 22 Euros, barely more than 1% of what we spent for our stay. The duty manager then said the cost would not be refunded, and he contradicted his own staff with various reasons why, including saying the Clserie was not a hotel, so we could not expect a kettle in the room, despite a large sign outside the property with the word 'hotel' ! It was a minor issue, which did not affect our enjoyment, but it was handled very poorly, as the duty manager then rang back to say the cost would be refunded if we provided an official receipt, but we had already provided the only receipt that Carrefour could provide..........||A silly situation for the sake of 22 Euros with guests who have stayed at the hotel for the...

JE VOUS DÉCONSEILLE ! Nous sommes parti à 2 pour un week-end en amoureux à deauville, on se dit qu’on va se faire un petit plaisir en plus en prenant une belle chambre dans un bel hôtel, seulement il est indiqué comme étant un hôtel 4 étoiles mais la vérité est tout autre ! Au départ personnel de la réception correct ( même si ils auraient put être plus accueillant). Arrivé dans la chambre, hormis la superbe vue sur l’hippodrome (chambre 622 de la villa odette) nous remarquons directement le manque d’hygiène, une grosse tache sur le radiateur, des draps qui n’avait pas été utilisé (et encore je n’en suis pas certaine encore aujourd’hui) mais qui n’avait pas été changé depuis un bon moment, une punaise de lit retrouvé sur mon oreiller, nous faisons donc un Check de tout le lit et n’en voyons pas d’autre mais quand même lorsqu’on se dit hôtel 4 étoile c’est inadmissible. Après un appel à l’accueil, qui nous propose de changer de chambre mais nous propose qu’une chambre largement plus petite que prévu (alors que d’autre chambre de l’étage ou nous étions étaient libre et il faut savoir que nous étions dans ce qui était marqué comme les meilleurs chambre de l’établissement), hors nous avions déjà payé notre séjour, nous ne changeons donc pas de chambre avec espoir d’avoir un petit geste lors du paiement du parking à la fin du séjour. D’autre problème se sont rajouté, comme le fait qu’on demande notre petit déjeuner entre 10h et 10h30 et qu’il soit ramené à 9h45, que la personne toque mais n’attends aucune réponse de notre part et rentre poser le plateau, (bravo l’intimité clientèle), et que malgré qu’on ait été dehors toute l’après-midi, et qu’on ait bien enlevé l’étiquette sur la porte pour prévenir que nous étions sortie, la chambre n’as jamais été refaite, les draps pas changé, le plateau de petit déjeuner pas récupéré depuis le matin alors que cela fait partie de leur prestation. Autre point notre lavabo dans la salle de bain avait une fuite. J’ai bien sûr prévenu la réception de tout ces problèmes et hormis venir récupérer le plateau de petit déjeuner dès que je leur en ai informé rien n’a été fait. Pour le prix payé et les prestations apporté on aurait mieux fait de se louer un bon airbnb. Et bien sûr aucun geste nous as été fait lors du paiement du parking, j’avais l’impression que pour eux c’était normal. Une énorme déception sur cet hôtel qui de prime abord a l’air très sympa, et très reposant.
