would like to share that we didn't even make it into the restaurant. upon arrival the doors were closed, and although staff was inside and saw us, they totally ignored us, till we opened the plastic tent ourselves and the waitress came up to us, extremely rude. when we asked when the restaurant would open she said 7pm, so we left and would come back at 7 pm. we were back at 7:05, but the doors were still not open, now 3 staff members were inside laughing at us and totally ignoring us. more customers showed up but nobody was left in, staff was idle, staring at their guests outside in the freezing cold and making jokes. At that point, we decided we weren't even interested anymore, even if they would open up their doors to leave money behind in a restaurant that has obviously no manners or service. The duck fillet with mashed potatoes and salad was quite delicious. A small side basket of sliced bread came with the meal. Staff were friendly but limited in English. We got by. Food was served quite promptly. A bottle of water was also brought to our table.

I skipped dessert and went straight for a cup of tea. The Earl Grey was light and delightful. It came with a good sized pot of hot water.

Passage à la Cantine de Deauville à l’occasion d’un week-end normand ensoleillé. L’établissement propose un cadre vraiment agréable avec une déco récente et moderne.

Concernant la carte, il y a du choix. Beaucoup de choix — trop peut-être ? Ne cherchez pas, je ne peux que vous conseiller le menu à 35€. Croyez-moi, dans cette ville, c’est une affaire pour le trio gagnant entrée / plat / dessert à ce prix là 💶.

On commence par un os à moelle revisité à la normande : une simple sauce camembert à étaler sur votre tartine de moelle et de gros sel. C’est un mariage osé mais terriblement efficace et délicieux !! Le pain est frais, l’os est gros, la sauce gourmande, que demander de plus ? 🦴

Toujours dans le thème de la région, le burger normand fait son entrée. Simple, un sandwich offrant un steak de qualité et bien évidemment ses tranches de bacon et de camembert pour le goût. Dommage qu’il soit arrivé légèrement froid, mais les frites bouillantes ont su le réchauffer, c’est pardonné ! Amis nordistes, vous n’aurez pas beaucoup de choix niveau bières, la paillette saura néanmoins nous rappeler les terres du Nord avec sa belle robe blonde et sa pointe d’amertume. Idéale pour une entrée et un plat. 🍻🍔

Enfin, le café gourmand est tel qu’on l’attend : douceurs variées, bon café et la traditionnelle crème brûlée que les connaisseurs sauront apprécier 🍰.
