Café Quai 33 — Restaurant in Paris

Think I might start a new segment on this page called - weirdest things I've ever eaten 😂.

We'll start with one that isn't THAT weird - escargot or snails 🐌🐌.

When @safaduffa and I visited Paris in 2018 she was really sick but she was a trooper and went with me for dinner every night and one night we stopped at a little place near our hotel called @cafe_quai_33.

We saw that the menu had snails and figured since we were in Paris we had to try it. Honestly these were really tasty here's a breakdown: Consistency: honestly the snails aren't totally what you expect, they aren't slimy but they are a bit chewy like calamari Flavor: they douse these guys in butter and garlic so can it really taste bad (the answer is no...) Presentation: honestly it was pretty fun to eat these they give you a little fork and a tool to grip the shell

The experience is a lot of fun - would definitely recommend everyone try once and if you're in Paris near Cafe Quai 33 give it...

I walked in and no one offered me a menu I had to take one myself. The fish was very fresh no seasoning and no taste. The staff didn’t even recognized me and the waiter never returned with my check, I had to walk to the bar and pay there. I’m not sure if it’s because I am black, but I’ve watched and observed how they treated other customers by seating them, being back the check to their tables etc, that service was never offered to me. I was asked if I wanted dessert I said yes, and the waiter never returned back with the dessert menu. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all. We stayed at a nearby hotel (9hotel) and quai 33 became our local cafe. We were in Paris for 6 days we came to quai 33 4 times.

The service was excellent, the food and cafe was better than any other nearby cafe we found and when other cafes stopped serving food (we would walk around trying to find other new places to eat), we’d always come crawling back to quai 33 for dinners. Old standby.
