Perhaps being an American girl who’d never visited Europe before elicited the grand excitement I felt even before arriving to the hotel, however, upon arrival, I was delighted by the hotel, the fabulous breakfast, the staff, the hospitality, the decor, the price and ESPECIALLY the location. The only downside to the fabulous location is that it is very far from the Charles De Guile airport. I wanted to save money and decided to take several trains to get to the hotel. With luggage, this is probably not the best way to go as the metro stations have many flights of stairs and if you’re not familiar with the transit system, this can mean getting lost, climbing loads of stairs and sometimes going in circles (I only know bc that’s what I did lol) However once this hassle was behind me, everything else was fabulous. The staff that greeted me spoke English very well, was very helpful and took care of my bags while my room was prepared as most flights landing in the city from America, have arrivals early in the morn. The only drawback was the narrow hallway into my room. I felt a bit claustrophobic but once I got in my room, though small was beautifully decorated with a red and crème bedroom ensemble and the best part, it included a fully updated bath, bed was amazing and of course not to mention the Romeo and Juliet style window that overlooked (well at least for me) the courtyard. There are tons of different ethic food options all within perhaps a few blocks of the property. Any type of food you can imagine is close by. But the best part? I walked to the Eiffel Tower daily during my entire trip. What’s even better? When I wanted to go elsewhere in the city, the metro was a block away from the hotel. I ate fabulous breakfast every single day that offered the best pastries and croissants I honestly have ever eaten in my life, even when they’d been there at least half the day. The glass atrium in area adjacent to the lobby allows you to enjoy the street without being emerged in it’s busyness. You can watch the crowd, eat breakfast and be covered from an occasional shower or two, all at the same time. They serve Nespresso types of lattes and cappuccinos from a huge commercial grade machine that makes the most amazing coffee. And even has froth. I hated that I EVER had to least this place. For the price, local, decor and benefits, you simply cannot skip this place. Oh and one more thing, if you decide to visit Europe in the summer, know most places do NOT have air conditioning, yet this place has digital thermostat that you can easily adjust not just the heat but...
Read moreThis was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at and I travel a lot. Check-in was somewhat OK. When I got to the room, we found a bed (clean, thank God!!) but the room did not have space for 2 suitcases, so we had to walk around the suitcases to access the bathroom. The backing of the closet was detached, there was no iron or ironing board as specified under "Amenitites" in the hotel description. The paint was peeling off the corners of the wall. The bathroom was gross. The handles of the vanity cabinet were broken. I couldn't shower right away because the towels were dirty. When I tried calling the reception to ask for fresh towels, the phone was not working, so at that point I went downstairs and was welcomed by a sour-puss Russian who gave me 2 new towels. When I got to the shower, almost all the showerhead holes were clogged and there was some very faint trickle from the ones that were working. My 14-year old refused to shower and when I sent an email to the hotel regarding the shower issue, they offered us free breakfast!!!! Maybe that was because I told them that I didn't want a repair person in the room when I am not there - I was afraid they were going to go through my suitcases and that was the last thing I needed -. I am so disappointed because we had a 4-night stay at this hotel and it completely ruined our exciting experience and stay in Paris. The hallways and staircase are extremely narrow, so careful with your luggage and the carpet on the stairs is disgusting. We stayed out of the hotel the entire day (for 5 days) and tried to have the least contact with the staff. When we checked out there was no one at the reception so I left the key card on the desk, only to find the receptionist watering the flowers outside - she didn't even say goodbye. Every evening when we'd get back to the hotel the receptionists would be outside talking on the phone. All the staff very rude at all times. VERY SAD and frustrating experience. Also, the rate was VERY HIGH compared to the quality and the room had a view to the inner courtyard, which was a very sad view. This hotel is called Eiffel Segur and it is supposed to have views of the EIFFEL TOWER!||PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR STAY IN PARIS because it will only take a toll on you and your nerves and will just ruin your...
Read moreA very good hotel! The Wifi wasn't working the first day we got there but they fixed it as soon as they could. The front desk staff were all very helpful and it is a very convenient location in terms of getting to metro to go all throughout Paris, and even walking distance to a lot of big sites! Also, the air conditioning is very good, which is useful for the hot summer days, and the room is always very clean when you get back.
Cons - not many. The room was small, but if you're in Paris, you shouldn't be in the room much anyway. I was annoyed that it was a little loud outside, but then I realized I hadn't closed the window all the way, so that's on me. Once closed, the windows are pretty good at keeping about 90% of the sound out (you're on a fairly busy street, and will get the occasional ambulance rolling through with sirens on blast). Also didn't love that there wasn't an iron in the room, but we were able to get one from downstairs. The elevator is also very small, but lucky for us we were on the first floor, so we'd just use the stairs. Lastly, the room only had a soap/shampoo combination. For me, I was fine with it, but my wife is more particular about separate shampoo and soap. Just something to prepare for if that's important to you.
I didn't use the breakfast area - we went out for baguettes every morning anyway, so I can't attest to that. And the wifi, once fixed, was very strong - helped us facetime our family back home while we were there.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel! It's not luxurious or anything like that, but if you're looking mainly for a place to rest at the end of a day gallivanting around Paris that will be very clean and very comfortable, this place...
