First went into room and noticed no Eiffel Tower from anywhere in the room unless you were right up at the window and had to look out to the left. Really is very poor that Ibis class this as an Eiffel Tower view room. They must look into adding a disclaimer on to these rooms as I would go as far as saying it could be considered false advertisement. I went to reception and showed photo's etc. and they moved us to another room but did feel like it was my fault. Room very basic as expected, main issue initially was no hot drink refreshments but this probably isn't listed so can't complain. However, what is listed but wasn't included is air conditioning. The room was extremely hot even with the window open and/or air conditioning (in italics) switched on. First night hardly got any sleep and my girlfriend was unwell, really disappointing and again could be seen as false advertisement as when I went and spoken to reception on this they said that there is only air conditioning in the summer months and the control unit in the room is just a fan which is connected to all other rooms - it was far too hot! After stating and showing as per the room details that air conditioning was listed, I wasn't given any sort of solution other than offering a fan - which I accepted reluctantly with nothing else on offer. I was told this fan would be delivered to the room - unfortunately the fan was never delivered! Frustrated and with no confidence at this point we had to have another restless night. What was meant to be a relaxing getaway ended up being stressful and we felt a lot worse than before we arrived.
Staff were okay but cannot really say they were anymore than this and didn't really help with the highlighted problems, appreciated the room move but did feel like it was my fault.
Standard of room was as expected for the centre of Paris and the price. Two pointers : You need to review the Eiffel tower view rooms which I paid extra for, the first room there was no view from 99% of the room. Even the second view was only okay and not worth the extra money. Sure this isn't the first time you have received this feedback.
You must change your description of including air conditioning, there was none and reception confirmed this, my girlfriend was ill and no air conditioning made the stay very difficult.
Really disappointed as previously had good experiences in staying in Ibis hotels but quite frankly as a frequent traveler I may now be inclined to avoid Ibis hotels in the future.
Would appreciate some feedback on the above as interested what your opinion is on the two main points I...
Read moreWe spent a lot of time finding a hotel with an Eiffel Tower view. After months of looking we found this hotel and the prices were amazing. We booked the Eiffel Tower rooms in January for our trip in June. We stayed at this hotel for three night at the start of our trip and two nights at the end. When we landed we had a hard time getting to hotel so we arrived around midnight. We were told there was a "technical issue" and the Eiffel Tower room was not available. They had a twin room available and said they would try to get us into the Eiffel Tower view room the next day which they did. We were moved into the Eiffel Tower room the next day and it was beautiful. We were on the eight floor and had an amazing view. House keeping also put some roses I got my new fiance in water while we were gone one day which was really nice. On our second visit, about two weeks later, our room took several hours extra to get ready then what was stated on our reservation email. We had to pay for lockers downstairs while we got lunch because our room took several addional hours to get ready. When we went to check in I made sure to ask several times that this was the right room and asked what floor it was on. They said it was on the sixth floor and that we "might" be able to see the Eiffel Tower. I said we would wait until a room on the eighth floor was available with an Eiffel Tower view and we did. It's extremely frustrating to make a reservation six months in advance and to not have the hotel attempt to not honor it. The anxiety of making sure we had a place to sleep at this hotel was awful and ruined part of our trip. The view and pricing is amazing, but it came at a cost. Addiontally, on our last night when we needed get as much sleep as possible because we flew early next morning the fire alarm went off around 2:00am. I called the main desk twice to see what was going on but no one answered and no one came to our floor so we started getting ready to leave incase there was a fire and as we left our room after the alarm going off for about 15 minutes it stopped. I called again after it stopped but no one answered. At check out that same morning they said someone was smoking and set the fire alarm off. This is a nice hotel with good restaurants and an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower but despite making the reservation six months in advance we felt lucky to get the rooms we booked and had to put up a fight to make sure we got the rooms we booked. Also this hotel is flagging one star reviews as...
Read moreI stayed at the Ibis Paris Tour Eiffel Cambronne 15ème from November 23rd to 30th, 2024. My experience was a mix of positives and serious concerns, which future guests should be aware of.
First Impression:
The check-in experience was excellent. Mr. Said, who welcomed us, was incredibly kind and professional. He explained everything in detail—from navigating Paris and its transport system to hotel amenities. His warm demeanor was a highlight of the stay.
The Room:
The room was small but adequate for a short stay. However, the bathroom was a disappointment. It was uncomfortably cramped, making it difficult for taller or larger guests to use the toilet or shower. The shower cubicle also leaked water onto the floor, which was inconvenient. Overall, I’d rate the room 5/10.
Safety Concerns:
A New Scam Targeting Tourists The most concerning part of our stay was encountering a well-coordinated scam targeting tourists around the hotel.
Day 1: A well-dressed couple (posing as husband and wife) approached us inside the hotel (5th Floor ). They started a friendly conversation about food and asked where we were from. They claimed they had never seen Euros before and asked if we could show them some cash. Their goal was to switch genuine notes with fake ones. Fortunately, we caught on and avoided the scam.
Day 2: A similar scam occurred with a man and his “daughter.” The man asked us to take a photo for them and began a friendly conversation, eventually asking the same question about Euros. This time, we told them we only used cards, and they quickly backed off. However, we later saw them attempting the same scam with other tourists near the hotel.
These individuals appeared polished and credible, with accents and appearances suggesting they might be from Middle Eastern backgrounds. They use their polished appearance, luxury accessories, and conversational skills to gain tourists’ trust. The scam works by distracting you (e.g., asking about money or posing for photos) while attempting to switch your genuine Euros with counterfeit currency.
Hotel’s Response:
When we reported this issue to the hotel manager (a bold, short French man), his response was shockingly dismissive. He simply told us to file a complaint with the police, showing no concern or willingness to address the matter seriously. For a hotel that caters to international tourists, this lack
so please be careful with this kind...
