Visiting The Great Canadian Pub in Paris was an absolute blast! It was even better because I went with a Canadian friend who felt right at home. This pub is smack-dab in the heart of the Notre Dame area and offers a fantastic taste of Canadian culture in the oldest district of Paris. The vibe at this place is super welcoming and upbeat, making it the perfect spot to catch a sports match, whether it's hockey or football. And let me tell you, the terrace is something special. It's such a chill setting to watch a game while soaking up the Parisian atmosphere. Now, let's talk about the best part - happy hour! The timing couldn't be more perfect, with great prices that don't skimp on quality or experience. It's the ideal opportunity to mingle with locals and fellow visitors while enjoying the pub's top-notch offerings. And the food, oh boy! The poutine was absolutely mouthwatering, with the perfect blend of flavors and textures. And don't even get me started on the wings - they were cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Pairing them with a Canadian beer made for a truly authentic and satisfying meal. The Great Canadian Pub is an absolute gem for anyone craving a taste of Canada in Paris. Whether you're a Canadian, a sports fan, or just looking for a chill spot to unwind with good food and drinks, this place ticks all the boxes. I can't recommend it enough for its fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and that amazing terrace setting.

Poutine in need of resurrection. We came for the poutine... The great Canadian was recommended to us by a Canadian waitress working in an Irish Pub in Paris. My boyfriend and I are from the states, he's been to Canada and had real true poutine and introduced it to me. We've had a lot of poutine. This one makes it to last place on the list. Why is it last? Though the cheese was amazing and had pull and the gravy was decent... the fries were undercooked. I like a greasy soggy fry, these aren't even that. They had that just barely cooked texture. They should be crispy since they will be covered in gravy, I can't even say the gravy was as fault, the fries had no chance. The "expresso" was good, a little bitter compared to other places I've had it at. The Bloody Mary wasn't bad but if you're from Wisconsin (which I am) and you're a bit of a Bloody Mary snob, which I am, then it may just fall short of your expectations. One must remember... Canadian bar in France. The service was a tiny bit slow, it looked like 1 service person, no idea who was doing the cooking. The woman was prepping things, changing channels, washing tables, etc, she had things to do. The place is nice clean, not crowded, plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor as well with service outside. Happy hour Monday - Friday 4-8pm. Brunch menu on weekends.

It's okay. Maybe I'll come again. During the night it can be very crowded. I passed by many times and it was always crowded. Went once with my friends and we couldn't enter. The guy next to the door told us just "sorry" but he didn't propose us to wait or to see if there's a place outside, maybe he didn't understand that we wanted to stay. We found a place outside and asked him if we can take it, quite bizarre to see that in Paris. I asked for a Sol Mexican beer which is quite uncommon so I thought, even if I have to pay 7€ for a bottle, it's worth it. End of the story, the waitress didn't tell me they don't have Sol anymore so they gave me a Corona instead, for the same price of course... Poutine is good although, fries are surely from a frozen bag in their freezer. The gravy is okay. Perhaps, the classic poutine is a little too expensive for what it actually is.

Considering most of the people visiting this bar will be expats or tourists, I’m going to write this review in English. As a born and raised Canadian, it pains me to have to say this about a bar that should be famed for inclusivity and acceptance
but this bar has some of the worst hospitality and staff I have ever seen.

I came to watch an NFL game on a Saturday night. I arrived more than a half hour early, and a staff member told me to take a spot at the bar just beside their service area. A few minutes into the match, the manager came over once again and told me that I had to move to a new seat, because “the staff have to do their work” and that there wasn’t enough room at the bar
and proceeded to lead me to a new seat with a much poorer view than I had (not to mention, away from the people I was chatting with already). When explained to him that I did not want to sit there, and that I would have liked to remain at my old seat for the aforementioned reasons, he became unreasonably upset and accused me of “trying to create a problem since I arrived”
?

He then snatched the food and drink out of my hands and demanded that I leave the bar and that “he did not ever want to see me back.” I did get my money back in cash, but to be treated like that was completely mind-blowing considering that I arrived early to get a good seat, and that I was not affecting their service in any way (there was definitely enough room for them to do work, don’t try to convince me).

It was also a bit weird watching the service, a pair of girls were ordering two drinks each at the bar. I am not sure if the bartender was just having a rough night or the music was too loud or anything, but the entire process took literally ten minutes. Not the mention they almost double charged one of the girls. The entire management and hospitality process of this place is cooked, and the food/drink I got was only average at best.

Oh, and by the way, the refund they gave me was short one euro. Didn’t think it was worth my time to ask for it back. Nothing Canadian about this place, would definitely recommend...
