I stayed in Hotel Orphee for over a week. All in all, it’s not somewhere I can fully recommend or would return to for a number of reasons. ||On the positive side, the location in the 5th is walking distance to the Seine, Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, and the Latin Quarter. My room was very quiet and, from the 6th floor, I had a nice view. ||Everything else was disappointing. The wood floors are scratched and stained. There is sour smell in the bathroom that required something put into the shower and didn’t fully dissipate. The bathroom sink and counter are so small that it’s constantly wet and there is no room to put anything. The towels are thin. There is no safe, fridge or available coffee in the room or downstairs unless you pay for it. When asked for local restaurant recommendations, they have three. Two were good and one was not. When asked for information on the annual solstice music festival, there was none readily available.||The tariff is an ever-changing mystery. We were charged over 300E per night for a single for two nights and 230E per night for the remaining days. Breakfast was not included in our rate. The posting at the hotel front desk and out front during the beginning days of our stay offered the room at 144E including breakfast. When questioned, hotel management and reception said the rate is constantly changing- even hourly. I understand dynamic pricing. However, I felt taken advantage of. I booked the initial reservation directly with the hotel months out and added two days shortly before my arrival. The two days were the expensive ones, despite the hotel posting a lower rate during my stay. This hotel is not a 300E a night hotel. Despite my discussions, they would not credit the account for the days that were posted at 144E and no one at the hotel even offered to add on breakfast, which those paying 144E were getting. Even the morning coffee costs 5E, since I was not on the breakfast plan. The whole experience was disappointing and there are too many options in Paris to stay in a very basic hotel at these...

Read moreGreat hotel! In short: great location, friendly staff and clean! ❤️ I would come back!
For those who care for a more elaborate discription:
Great location 🏩 In a nice, safe neighbourhood close to lots of restaurants and a nice park. As a solo female traveler in this case, this is extra important for me! 2 minutes from closest busstop and metro.☺️
Friendly staff ❤️ Staff speaks French but also proper English! Open to questions and collaborative Upon arriving they offersome cake and homemade lemonade They check in with you before your stay for your needs through a text or mail which can be nice to ask some final questions
Clean 🧼 Rooms are clean!! I had one complaint because the shower had some limescale on it and was turning brown. That same day they came and fixed it! Would have been nice if it had been done before of course!
Extra good things 🙏 Lil welcome note with big water bottle in room Hairdryer and some good smelling soaps to use Provides breakfast (I booked without so look at other reviews for more info for that) Hotel has lobby and a terrace! Hotel has a working elevator 24h reception
Some things to consider 🤔 The hotel is inside an old building and next to the metro. Tho convenient, you can hear the tram going through the night and cars passing by. To me it was not an issue, but if you are a light sleeper, keep this in mind! It's something the hotel can't help, it's just an old building. Maybe bring earplugs. The rooms are very small (as often in big cities). Not a negative thing, but just a heads up! Luckily I have a small suitcase so it fit just right. Might be challenging if you are a bigger person. I also had an one-person room, so maybe the other rooms are bigger. The bed was nice and big tho!! Some balconies are shared with your neighbour, might be smt to consider if you choose to...
