Jardin des Plantes — Attraction in Paris

Are all the positive reviews of the same space I was at- I didn’t see what those positive reviewers saw! The gardens I saw were weedy, had a few petunias and were unkempt, overgrown and neglected. I get it- only so much money to go around, and Paris center is looked after well- but I was expecting a garden, not a field. I mean really- petunias??!! In a botanical garden? Jardin des Plantes is a wonderful garden to wander through. If you take interest in plants, flowers, green spaces and breathers from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the perfect place to visit. Additionally, you can visit the palaeontological museums, the museum of evolution, a botanical museum, a little enclosure with monkeys, several cafés and much more in the garden. Disappointing - seriously, 1 single male toilet and one single female toilet which I was informed was not working and had no paper, in the whole facility - had such high expectations for this place. The walk ways were bare earth and potholed, I can only imagine in wet weather. The displays were lacklustre at best. I don't know how anyone can 5 star this place.
