what can I say? I was petrified at the thought of spending a night in this hotel when reading the reviews, it is a business trip and the place was booked by my hosts, who probably have no idea whatsoever of what this place is like (they soon will!). ||In principle it could be great: great location, beautiful view from the windows at the front (well, if you could see through the filthy windows, that is), but then it ends there.|It starts with the "welcome" at reception: I must count myself lucky that the man did not tell me to f... off. But hey, every day must be a bad day if you are running this place, so I can't blame him for resenting the paying guests that keep this place afloat.||The carpeted stairs are so filthy and rickety that they do look like a bad joke - but they are your only escape route in case anything happens, so they are no joke. At least you'll get downstairs pretty quickly by rolling down the sloping steps, though good luck with the germs you'll have plastered all over you.||After this, the room was a relief: no carpet, I could breathe! Furniture looked relatively new, and the bathroom was passably clean. But anything that isn't hardware is stained, from the shower curtains (that I did not draw - the shower tray is tiny, so those filthy things will cling to your body) to the duvet and the towels: I must count myself very lucky to be able to use the plural, as I was in a double for single occupancy, so I had two. But of course there is no bathmat, and anyhow you'd have no hook or rail to hang your towels anyway. A comforting thought is that the towels have a strong smell of bleach, at least that! Also I did not wake up with any insect bites, nor was I bothered by any other pests, so there is another success for you!. The room is very small, but it is Paris.||Then there is a bathroom switch that has a will of its own. It may or may not switch the lights on, and it may or may not switch them off - though the lights will go off after a while anyway. Maybe it is so that you feel like you have company, who knows. I did have a remote control for the tv in the room, but I did not dare touch it (having to handle the very tatty room keycard was enough of an experience for the day).||I did venture for breakfast: that is also an experience. First off, the lady who manages the breakfast must be naturally nice, for in spite of trying you could see the breaking of a smile every so often - but she also sticks to the "get them out quickly" company policy making you feel as unwelcome as possible. Of course, dirty cups, dirty glasses, opaque cutlery: must be good for your immune system, I suggest you come with small children, the room will feel big to them too! ||On the plus side, they arrange a tray with a number of individually packed items (cheese, biscuits, honey, jam and Nutella) so you are safe with those. There is a kettle with water on, so that you can reboil it to your heart content: but at least there is a microwave, so should you want you can heat some fresh water there. They also have a selection of yogurts, some orange "juice", milk, cereals (of a kind I had never seen before, some variation on con flakes by the look of them), and a basket with mini viennoseries and bread: so all in all the breakfast is above the expectations set by the carpet (and in fairness so is the room). ||Another positive is that there is a functioning internet connection included in the price.||I only had to use it for one night, and I think I wouldn't be alone in not wishing to spend here any longer than that - indeed, especially if you are not footing the bill, this whole experience can be even mildly entertaining. What does surprise me is that this came at €100, and maybe it is places like this that make Airbnb is so very popular. ||Small and cheap and functional does not have to mean dirty and unkempt,...
Read moreI have to say first that I took my responsabilities when I chose to book this economic hotel the very last moment and that I even read the clause which specified that the payment could not be refoundable in any case but still I booked (in my name) for me and my sister, who is under 18, thinking nothing could happened...HOWEVER....after a day spent in the city, I finally went to the hotel to get check-inned, I got severe problems for my sister though, who wasn't able to sleep in the room we booked. I uderstood that a minor should be vacationing whit just its parent (nor an authorization from the parents themselves is enough) but still, I think every client should be aware of these kind important informations from the specific structure (because not every hotel/hostels have this norm as matter of facts the final solution from the receptionist was to book the hotel nearby for this minor: he could not even let leave her suitcase). After resolving the problem by myself thanks to a french friend who let her in his house, I came back to the hotel cause I could stare there so I did it to not waste the money but I had to wait another half of hour cause my room wasn't opening due to a problem with the electronic door lock so I was gave another key card for another room. I supposed they did't have any more rooms because I was sent in a desolated wing of the building under construction. I asked multiple times to talk with the owner of the hotel but I could not even speak at the phone with him and the only times I could see him was just in the mornings from 10:30 to the next hour. I mean, I could not waste a whole morning in waiting so I gave up. Another desturbing fact is that neither of the two receptionists could speak english, so I had to involve other people to translate the whole serious conversations. A DISASTER. My only good opinion is that they had a very comfortable matresses. I suggest every tourist to get informed everywhere if minors are allowed even without parents cause it could be a huge...
Read morePLACE (3/10): A hotel located on the outskirts of Paris. It's very narrow, a makeshift place converted from an apartment building. The rooms are quite shabby; unfortunately, we could hear EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, from the adjacent room.
PRICE (6/10): Reasonable compared to counterparts and for this area. It was 62 Euros, although it didn't deserve it, it was still reasonable.
SERVICE (5/10): Acceptable. One thing caught my attention. They say if you're half an hour late, they charge you for the whole day; they're not sensitive about anything else, but they're very strict about this :) Love of money I guess.
ATTITUDE (5/10): The folks at the reception were probably reluctantly doing their job; they seemed eager to finish the day. The lady handling cleaning duties, on the other hand, was kind.
CLEANLINESS (5/10): Average.
ADDITIONAL FEES AND HIDDEN COSTS (4/10): They will definitely charge a city tax per person, it's not included in the reservation, but they won't forget. It was probably 3-5 euros per person.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: It might be worth considering just because it's cheap. If you have other alternatives, I recommend...
