I arrived at the hotel on June 11th morning around 11:30AM, the front desk lady was standing there looking at the computer, I asked her if I can check in as normally if there's any room available, the gold crad member can have early check-in. She lazily said "no room now", I replied okay. Generlly speaking, then the front desk would ask you if you would like to keep your luggage firstly? She did not ask or even say any word to me, kepting looking on her computer. So I politely asked her if I could keep my luggages here? She said okay then she threw to me 2 luggage labels. I was stunned for a few seconds at that time, then I asked her "so do I need to put on the label by myself"? She answered immediately "sure". Why I was stunned? That's becasue no matter where did I travel to all over the world, the hotel staffs will help you to put on the luggage label and give you the recepit. If she did not want to work, why she was standing in the front desk? Probably staying at home doing nothing is the best thing for her ever. Then as mentioned, the Air conditioner was broken, the weather was getting really hot since June 11th, the first day I did not really sleep well. Second day, as it's like oven inside my room, I could not stay inside any longer, so I went to the bar at lobby to grab a drink. I found out there were so crowded in the bar or lobby, I relaized why as it's super cool in lobby area. Then I saw a guy got a fan from front desk, so I came to front desk trying to ask whether I can get a fan as well. The lady was so busy taking out lots of fans from the storage room, a guy was standing in front desk doing nothing at that time, so I wanted him, I wanted to ask him the question. He saw me and said to me immediately "no talking to me, please talk to the lady. " Again, I felt like "what the hell if you did not want to talk or answer any question, why did you work as front desk"? Luckily the lady saw me were asking the guy, she came to me and asked my room number as it seemed lots of people had asked for the fans from them. In the beginning she said sorry to me as they did not have enough fans on hand now, and she showed me the paper there were lots of rooms asking for the fan in the morning time. But later on she saw a small fan, she asked me if you don't mind, you could take this one. I said immediately sure I could take it, thank you very much. I would say I like the location of this hotel, as it's located in a safe area, and lots of restaurants nearby, Metro station is also in walking distance. But I really don't want to talk to the staffs in front desk as they were very unfriendly and impatient, no attitude or passion for their job except the one and only helpful lady. I would say even the cleaners are more friendly and nicer than those people in front desk. Again, I do think if the Manager in this hotel sees the review, you should take it serious, the front desk staffs need professional training again, most important thing of all, if they just want to stand there but doing nothing, they shoud consider leaving this job as soon as possible, I believe there are still lots of people who have passion to work as...
Read moreIf only I could give lower star ratings in the app, I would have! It was an unfortunate episode which no one intended; but the way the hotel handled is simply dishonest, despicable & disgusting. For 4 out of 5 nights of our stay, the air-conditioning of the whole hotel wasn't working. This happened before we arrived, but nothing was communicated in advance. The heat was unbearable & we couldn't fall asleep; the receptionist was nonchalant & told me they had no more fans to offer my room on my 1st night. I was frustrated, helpless & dissatisfied, & requested a refund of my room charge; he said ok (which turned out to be a lie to get me off his back at 12am). My room was on L1 & the traffic noise made it unfeasible to keep the window open throughout the night.
On the 2nd day, I approached another receptionist, who managed to get me a fan. But it appeared the first receptionist didn't log an refund request for me! The second receptionist logged one for me, saying a 20% fee refund (with reference to what another guest received), to be approved by her manager. On my final day, I spoke to the manager, Eugene, who told me to contact my booking platform which would then work out the compensation with the hotel. He assured me the hotel had the case logged & would "handle it well", & told me not to worry.
Subsequently, I contacted my booking platform which took a few days to check & negotiate with the hotel. The platform initially returned saying the hotel is willing to refund only a pathetic US$34 (7% of what we paid)! That felt like an insult. After we disputed & objected, citing what the hotel staff told us, our platform managed to fight for a 10% refund; the hotel NOW says that was what they promised us since the start.
Lie upon lie! You could see the self-exposing inconsistency in their words. This is Ibis, not even Ibis Budget. Very appalling & disappointing attitude & mentality.
In addition, (I gave feedback) the room wasnt very clean (see picture for the previous guest's 'leftover' double eyelid tape) when moved in. And they also didn't sweep our floor during the daily cleaning. I'm never gonna stay here again. They prioritise profits over customer well-being, & service/attitude. If you do choose to take a gamble, do so at...
Read moreOverall, it is a good hotel. Some of the staff were super friendly and some were not very communicative. The rooms are super nice, clean and modern.
Rooms: I got a room in the sixth floor where I can just see the top of the Eiffel Tower from far. The room is super clean and I like the modern feel and decor. It is big enough for me and it has a TV, table and chairs , two windows, wardrobe, obviously toilet with shower but no bath.
Cleanliness: super clean and they clean it whenever you want during day time.
Location: it is not the closest to the main tourist attractions but the metro and bus stop are so close. There are local supermarkets, cafes, grocery shops around. My favourite was a desserts/bakery shop nearby where they make fantastic desserts and cakes.
Price: I guess it is alright for what you get.
Lifts: they were working most of the time but there was a time when non of the lifts worked and I had to use the stairs, hut I guess this is not something that happens everyday so it is not a big deal to me as it is out of their control. They called maintenance and fixed it anyway.
There is an area in the reception with windows and nice decor. Nice if you want to have a chat with someone.
Transport: There are escooters and bikes you could rent via mobile application such as Tier, Lime and Pony etc. they will ask for a deposit and you can use your card. It can be a big difficult to use at first but once you sign up and get up and running all will be good. You can get like a day pass for about €10 euros a day to use the bike/e-scooter for a period of time set by the service provider (e.g. €10 gives 2 hours of rides if you use Tier). However I would recommend using buses and metro as you pay €2 for any journey and it works out cheaper especially of you are going...
